Just trying to get some ideas on how to tell how much beer is left in my keg for ordering a replacement. Weighing seems like a pain and the counter/meters are too expensive.

They make reusable strips you can stick to the keg, and wet with warm water which can show you the liquid level. You can also use a couple of cups and a handful of pennies to get an idea, every time you pull a pint move a penny. You can also shake the keg occasionally. I've done both of those, but now don't use any method, just guess and always err on the side of having another one ordered before I run out. No harm in it sitting at the store for a few days.

I pull it out and give it a little shake.

The obvious answer is why worry about it? (okay, that was actually another question) Keep a fresh keg on deck ready to go when the first one kicks. Problem solved! :grinning:

I also give it a forearm lift..If I can pick straight up and shake I know I'm low..

I git half a mug out of it last night before just blowing gas. I just got a call from my local place and they say my 1/2 keg of SN Celebration is ready for pick up! Great timing.

Pull it out of the keezer for a couple minutes. The condensation line will let you know where the beer level is out.

Lift and shake. You can usually tell when you get down to like 6 beers left, it gets real light. Just kicked my SA Octoberfest last night.

Also as you determine you are low, start sending other people to get the beers because it always fun to have the foam explosion happen to someone new.
