Apple Brandy Barrel Aged Zhukov Release

Someone at CCB confirmed that they had 2 barrels of Brandy Apple Zukhovs that did not get turned into Hunahpu, so that is all they have for growlers. I would imagine they have at least a keg or 2 for snifters as well.

 

2 barrels = 7936 oz /32 oz growlers = 248 growler fills. Given they have 2 barrels just for growlers.

 

Ok, I will be getting there really early then.

 

Not sure i can really drink at 9am. now 11am is a different story, probably going to grab my growlers and a couple Cuc Saison (if available) if its not totally crazy maybe have a snifter of the MZ and head out into Tampa for the day.

 

Really? Hunahpu day we were drinking at 8:00 am. We were 2nd in line and I opened up a few BCBCS for the people around us. It was really fun. I am sure I will do the same for this.

 

I guess i was more joking than anything, I can always drink. I may bring something in the cooler just to be prepared.

 

I figured you were kidding. The best thing is getting there early and having a nice stiff coffee beer.

 

I might have some interest in doing this if some other local wants to go in with me, for example with us splitting 1 of the growlers plus a King Henry from a trade. I will keep the growler if it's my only BAMZ, though.

 

Heck yeah. Our car will have some stuff, for sure.

By the way, do you think I'll be able to get it in a Cigar City growlers there, presumably along with an extra fee? Or is that a bad risk such that I ought to purchase a growlers ahead of time?

 

As noted by CCB, growlers will be sold there at $4 each. If you have any, I would suggest you bring one with you just in case. I have one and will bring with me.

 

When I was there 3Weeks ago they had 2pallets of growlers right outside the door in the brewery. Im sure they will have plenty

 

I'm hoping, for quickness sake, that the growlers are pre-filled, like the virgin oak Hunahpu's were at the barrel-aged release.

I'm sure they'll make a big info release on Facebook soon. A lot of times for special events they know it is going to be packed, so they don't do tours or fill other growlers at all that day. This may not be as big of an event, though, so we'll see.

 

That would be extremely smart on their part.

 

just got a call from someone who is at the tasting room right now. They are running out of Cuc Saison and they dont plan on bottling more until next week. soooo he picked me up 2.

Oh they are planning on being SLAMMED SUNDAY!!!!

 

this may have been a joke, but it's much more closer to the truth than:

my advice: don't set up any pre-trades for this. there just aren't that many growlers to go around. just a heads up to give people some idea of what to expect...

 

remember folks: this is a charity event designed to raise money for the family of Ben Harris. this is most definitely not a typical barrel-aged release.
