Is Saison Brett going to show up out here or is that the same deal as the Hibiscus Gose? Been debating pulling the trigger on heading down to CCB for the takeover. Been wanting to try that one for a while.

Saison-Brett is a one time release each year and was released in KC in the late spring/early summer this year. To be honest, I don't know if an allocation was set aside for a wide release in your area, but I doubt that's the case if you haven't seen it yet.

I picked up a 4 of Dark Truth at TW Tampa. First one tonight, and looking forward to it. Is the Belgian yeast in the bottle? I am considering aging a bottle for a year or so. Thanks.

No, the primary yeast strain is centrifuged out and we bottle condition with a different strain.

Thanks. I think I'll give a shot at holding one. Your participation is most appreciated. And, of course, Go Royals!

love child #4 is great. Probably the most sour beer I've had without getting a big vinegar/cleaner taste from it. I haven't seen any down here, though.

They had it at Riverside Market a couple of weeks ago but they wanted like $30 for it so I passed.

I got my bottle at the Boynton ABC near Total Wine...but they only had one bottle left. So who knows if it's still there.

I definitely want to try it. But at $20 per, I'll probably just get one.

How is it that so many US made sours costs $20, when Cuvee Rene, a world class beer that is aged in oak for an average of 2 years, and shipped all the way from Belgium, retails for $11?

Lindemans cranks out well over 75,000 hectoliters of lambic every year, much of it being diluted with syrupy awful fruit flavors. It stands to reason that since their whole model is based on a singular style (with variants) that their overall costs of production for that style are lower. American breweries largely produce sours in very small quantities, thus raising the cost of production as well as demand.

    I consider $20.."fair"..as it's a large bomber. A lot of sours I've had cost $10-$20 for a 12 oz or 350ml.

LOL for real. I hadn't been there to hang out in a while - maybe more than a year. I noticed that the prices of the bottles in the cooler have gone way up from what they used to be. When they first opened, I remember I went there on a cold night and drank Bell's Best Brown for like $3 each. Now every beer in the cooler is $7 or $8 pretty much (12 oz). Bigger bottles are high priced, as you said. Gotta pay for that new building across the street I guess?
