Beer Day @ Jeffo's in Waterloo ON

Hi everyone,

Last summer I brought a bunch of Westvleteren home for everyone and we all got together and shared some fun beers on exchange day. Well, unfortunately I didn't manage any more Westvleteren this year, but I thought it would be fun to come together again for an afternoon of beer, BBQ and swimming (hopefully the weather agrees).

Date: Saturday 11 August
Time: Any time after 2pm
Place: Jeffo's house in Waterloo ON

I have a few beers in Waterloo still that I'd like to share with you guys, and I have a couple here that I'll be flying home as well. About 6-8 in total. Nothing crazy, but definitely quality beers. I'm also happy to provide hamburgers for everyone that can stay for some BBQ.

For you, it would be nice if you could bring two large format bottles to share with the group. Something interesting you think the rest of us should try. It doesn't have to be ueber rare or anything, but something that we can't necessarily go down to the LCBO and pick up an hour before would be nice if possible. Moreover, some kind of food would also be appreciated. I will supply the hamburgers, but perhaps some salads, chips, other snacks, etc., would work well.

Kids are welcome to come hang out and enjoy the pool as long as there is an adult coming along who's planning to remain "responsible." Not that this is going to be one big piss-up or anything, but we do have to keep the little ones in mind.

Only post the style of beer, but not the actual beer itself. It's fun to have surprises at beer parties, but it can be tough if 90% of the beers are the same style. Let's try to get some variety in there without spoiling the surprise. Doubles just mean we get to drink more of it.

Finally, there are no limits to the number of people who can come, so take your time, check your calendars, invite your beer friends, and post in the thread if you're able to make it. If it gets too big, I'll just not show up myself.

So, please post in thead with the above information if you're interested in coming. If there are any questions, please post them here as well. I will send out my address a little later on. Hope to see in you in a couple short months!

Hope you can make it Liam. Don't be afraid to bring more of those grolwers you brought for us last year. My cousins loved that stuff, as did I, and they are by no means "beer guys." Quality, quality brews.

Hi everyone,

So, managed to pack up some stuff today and included three interesting beers for August. They kind of go together as a theme, so it'll be fun to try them all at once.

On another note, if someone has some extra St. Ambroise RIS from the 2011 batch that they don't know what to do with, please give me a shout. I've had it every year so far and unfortunately don't have any of the latest release. I should have room for a couple more bottles in my luggage and I could bring back some Westvleteren or something to offer as a trade.

Anyways, looking forward to seeing everyone in a few short weeks. Hopefully more people will be able to join us than have confirmed so far. The more the merrier
