Posted today, in Ohio Beer Blog....

Ohio has the dubious distinction of having the only Brewery / Strip Club combo in the US...

What do you think? Good idea?

    http://www.ohio.com/blogs/the-beer-...ts-nation-s-first-strip-club-brewery-1.535784

The bartender admits that it’s strange. Some men are ambling into the small, topless strip club next to an Ohio cornfield more interested in the craft beer selection than the dancers bathed in blue neon light.
Welcome to Pinups and Pints, the nation’s first strip club brewery.
“It’s kind of different to look out and see everybody drinking your beer instead of a Miller Lite or Bud Light,” the bartender says with a laugh.
Pinups and Pints opened this summer in Medway just outside Dayton, employing a one-barrel SABCO Brew-Magic system and offering a single house-made draft beer to start.

I just cancelled the order for a ten foot pole. I'm not touching this one - too many things I could add that would make the post get deleted.

I can only imagine, neckbeards and strip club creepers...

    Heh.
I guess I approve. As a perfectionist homebrewer I'd like for him to have had a little practice at brewing first, but if the beer is turning out well, OK.

People are obviously flocking there for the beer

“It’s not bad,” a customer said while sipping on a pint. “It’s got a little bite.”

Soon we will be hearing 'This batch sucks, b1-b3 when the brewer didn't know what he was doing were WAYYY better.'

It;s bad enough my wife puts up with my beer habit , not sure she would approve of me heading there to fill up a few growlers.

Brings the meaning of "craft" to a whole new level...

IMHO - If the strip club is a method of pushing crappy brew, it's a bad combo and will flop. If the beer is out of this world with no distribution/brewery output only, why not? I would see it as a bonus to the experience.

I assume they're draft only, so the reviews for their beer will be skewed: "Pours a sultry blonde color with thick, voluptuous full legs of lacing. The aroma is mostly cereal grain malt but is quite unique due to the hairspray and perfume notes. Taste is very balanced with no one flavor rubbing up against another too forcefully. Body is soft, supple and viscous. I'm a breast - er, I mean impressed." Note to self: don't review beers while receiving a lap dance.

Liquor licensing and adult entertainment zoning regulations are often both gigantic pains to deal with. Dealing with both could be a massive headache

That would be my nightmare since I'm not single. "Honey, the Pinups and Pints IPA is number one on BA. Can I please-" "NO!"

In all seriousness, how many female customers would go to a place like this? I mean, you could be turning 50% of the population off to your beer.

Well, it certainly combines two things most men enjoy; but at the same time craft beer has been making a big push to include women in craft beer. I have quite a few female friends who know more about craft beer than my guy friends do and think this is a step back for craft beer.

While I personally am not opposed to the idea, I can see this making headlines as a misogynistic stain on the craft beer community. If the beer was good, it wouldn't need a crutch like topless women to entice the male patrons. This brewery is going to lose out on a huge demographic of beer drinkers.

Anything to turn a buck. It had to happen sometime. If the beer turns out to be decent, the dancers are going to be unhappy because the customers are paying more attention to the beer than to them. The tip money will be going to the bar instead of the dancers.

At this point in my life I'd rather have a good beer than a lapdance anyway.

I'm on board with this idea because my wife and I both want to be coaxed into buying high end beer by naked women.
