Like most of you in the cities area, I was out and about trying to get a few bottles of Darkness and just wanted to pass along a few observations.

First off, I think we all owe a thank you to the workers of the stores today. I can't even begin to think of the amount of phone calls and drop ins from the endless parade of people all looking for the same thing. Many of those folks behind the register don't really have any control of their store's social media presence (or lack there of) yet when you consider that Darkness bottles barely spend any time in the store between delivery and the last sale, they're the ones on the front line that have to deal with the complete strangers to the store who come in the door just far enough to ask about Darkness and then turn right back around and leave.

On a more personal level, I want to thank all the folks who were beer-ing it forward at the Golden Valley Liquor Barrel. By the time the last case was opened it was clear that not everyone in line was going to get a bottle. What happened at the end was a minor Darkness miracle. I watched several people only buy one bottle instead of the two they could have. Because of that, there was about five or six extra people that were able to walk out with a bottle tonight. Kudos to all of you who cut back your purchase to let someone else enjoy.

Finally, I'd like to say thank you to South Lyndale Liquors for running a well oiled machine today. Between setting up a sample table of some fine beers for people to sip on while getting in line (nice touch with the TG Golden Nugget!) to having each person's allotment bagged and ready to go long before people got to the register, it was my gold at the end of the rainbow after getting shut out twice on Saturday (granted the general sales miss was my own doing of sticking around the festival area too long).

Typically we're to quick to complain on here about how things don't work our way. I just want to make sure we also recognize all those hard workers who are constantly trying to feed the insatiable animal that is the beer hunting public. A hearty and sincere thanks for all that you do, especially those of you who provide posts and updates on here. Please know that your efforts are appreciated and you deserve many more thanks that what I'm sure you actually get.

Did someone say D's in A's? I was also part of Team DickFire. This is awesome, it's almost like we're all sleeping on the ground next to a highway again!

I would add France 44 to this, those guys are always great, and the Darkness line there was efficient and they even put out some Rum King and Pumkyn via a quiz to the people in line. Pretty sure anybody that got there before 5 got some and it was nice and smooth.

I was able to find both Pumpkyn and Rum King yesterday while picking up Darkness. Can't wait to try both.
