I didn't go. Was in meetings all morning and called to see how much they had left to see if it was worth wasting my lunch for.

My guess is maybe Venus? Don't think it is Bent Paddle Cold Press unless they just started getting Bent Paddle, would love it if they did.

My problem is I don't actually know where those places are as I pretty much stick to downtown  Going to start doing some legwork this afternoon!

Haven't read thread but does BA Darkness live up to expectations? Is it darkness on steroids? Lots of barrel character? I was able to grab a few bottles yesterday and can't wait to crack one.

The Darkness glass always has the prior years font on it. I'm not sure why Surly can't have the current font on the glass since the artwork is picked months ago.

Unfortunately, it's always the font from the previous year. I don't know why they can't pair them. So in this case, they sold the 14 glass with last years art, and they also had the '13 (with '12 art) available as well.

MGM in MG had it for $20.99 thoug, which kind if surprised me considering I was used to the Hopkins MGM. However, Hopkins MGM had Size 11 for $10 last year, $1 cheaper than the brewery.

Had to walk out without buying anything. Lesson learned to ask the price before driving over

So, basically took your advice and started calling everywhere, especially smaller places. Found it on the last place I looked (I realize that's always the way it is, but in this case I was actually out of places I could get to fairly easily). Barrel House downtown had it, though there were only 2 bottles left 20 minutes ago, so they're likely out now. Everywhere else in the downtown vicinity was out. Barrel House didn't get there's until today.

I did the same thing. I asked if anyone else questioned the price and he said "one other guy did". That must have been you! Too bad I have zero bottles of it still. I guess my stubbornness overruled my desire for Darkness so far.

I'm glad you questioned that high price. Hopefully the store will realize their customers don't appreciate price gouging but the register person will probably never tell the owner/price setters. I remember last year a MGM near me had Darkness a week or two after the bottles came out because they were charging $30 or so. Unfortunately I'm sure the bottles sold later.
