Posted in the "On Tap..." thread also, but this is one of the ten fresh hops that will be tapped tonight at 331:

I got my wife heading back north from Eagen today...any ideas for an easy stop right off the highway that might have this that I could call? She'll go north on 35e leaving Eagen, then west of 494 to 94 then north again. Not real familiar with that part of the metro.

Liquor Barrel on West 7th. Should be just a few minutes off of 35e.

Picked some up at Heritage last night. Plenty of packs there.

Can you exit on St. Clair there off of 35E and then reenter 35E. I need to spell this out for her exactly.

I'd suggest exiting at 7th Street (exit 103B) assuming she is heading north on I35E, and then re-enter I35E at St. Clair.

Fantastic fresh hop beer. Really resiny hop presence. Grabbed mine at South Lyndale today.

Just picked up a 6-pack at Elevated. Can't wait to hand out candy and indulge in this treat.

Does anyone know if this is on at the Summit Tap Room? I'm thinking of heading over there this afternoon.

Disappointment. Lesson learned. Pelletized wet hops don't give a beer the same wet hop flavor and aroma that whole wet hop cones do. This beer has non of the fresh green juiciness that I have come to expect from a good fresh hop beer. Instead, it tastes like an average IPA, and I'll pass on an average IPA.

Interesting take. I haven't had it yet.

Haksell's in Burnsville has it. I grabbed a 6 pack, but haven't tasted it yet. On a whim, I also grabbed a (pricey) 6 pack of Brau Brothers Hundred Yard Dash fresh hopped ale. I've never tried any of their beers before.

Haskells Minnetonka didn't have it on the shelf yet but I asked the beer guy and he came back with a sixer of this, also snagged the last Herkulean Wood

Hmm, I'm a fan of Summit, but find this to be quite average. Oh well, different strokes for different folks.

Going in thinking "fresh hop" I was let down, but thinking "ipa" I was happy. I liked it but one sixer will suffice for me.

I did not rate very highly but I did enjoy it. Probably pick up another sixer or two.

This is pretty much how I was with their Rebellion Stout. I liked it enough, but it didn't hit all the right notes for me (seemed 'too fresh' for the style, at the time), and so I didn't rate it very high or buy more than a couple of sixers. Of course, by the time I decided to salt-away a sixer or two for cellaring/trading purposes POOF! It was gone, daddy, GONE!. :slight_frown:

Being that the present one is of the fresh hop variety I reckon the built-in 'buy it fresh' incentive will make it go even faster.

Has anyone seen it on tap?

Didn't get the great "in your the face" aroma or the "juiciness" I really enjoy in this style of beer either. Like said above it did have a nice piney & resinous character that worked very well though. I'm still going to enjoy this beer a lot and will seek it out on tap.

As far as missing the mark on the wet hop characteristics I might say the same thing about Founders Harvest this year as well. Maybe to a lesser extent than Summit but still not what I'm used to with that particular beer. The best fresh hop beer for me so far this year has been Mosaic Fresh Hop from Castle Danger. A really pleasant surprise.
