I've loved this beer for quite a time, but hope they've tinkered with it enough to stop giving me headaches. Seriously....Only beer I've had (not named Budweiser) that will literally give me a friggin' headache after only two!! Even if I match with water!! God I love this beer that apparently hates me!!!

I'm sure it's been in the area for a while now, but I was finally able to pick some up in SE Michigan yesterday (albeit I could only find a 12 pack...).

Had one last night and thought it had a more spiced taste to it, quite a bit different from last year. Still enjoyed it very much. Did anyone else think it tasted like a hoppy Christmas ale

The best reviews for this beer were from the late 90's on that old Epinions website.

Between Celebration, Backwoods, and the Bastard Box all hitting at once, I might need to break the kids' piggy banks this month.

I think Burton definitely ages well, but my impression of 90 has been that it just gets less interesting and less complex. I've never aged a 90 past a year, though, when I gave up the experiment. So I suppose it is at least theoretically possible longer aging might produce good results. Shoot, maybe I'll try cellaring it for several years just for the heck of it.

I usually go through at least a couple of sixtels of this beautiful beer....at least. It just tastes like the holidays.

You'd better share the beer with the kids then. Remember, they're the ones who most likely will pick the nursing home.

The kids' all hate beer, as does the mailman. I'm becoming suspicious, but more beer for me.

I said it on another board yesterday, but I recently had a 5 year old 90 Minute and it was absolutely phenomenal. Certainly not what one would classify as an IPA/DIPA, but a vinous, grapey and somewhat bubblegum-y strong ale/barleywine. Really great - wish I had a whole case of them.

But obviously not many folks will get a chance to try a 5 year old 90. Much more will happen upon a 1 year old bottle and poo-poo on it. Less than stellar, sure, but certainly not undrinkable.

Take a couple of empty bottles, soak in a dishpan of warm water, slide off label and apply to the 'fridge.

12 packs? I've only seen 6 packs posted to Facebook thus far.

Obviously that would be the play. But I prefer to pay $12-13 for a 12-pack rather than $18-20 for two 6-packs.

Ah. I never realized there was such a difference. I usually buy it in kegs. Cheers.
