The most disturbing thing you said there was that Bomb can be had for under $4...

You guys really have nothing better to do with your day than to sit here and slader Moe? I have witnessed his generosity firsthand. To sit here, feed into and promote negativity just proves how lonely and boring your lives must be. Catchy Name, you should reevaluate your priorities and promote the positive aspects of beer advocacy. Not feed into this thread for over a month like it's the only source of entertainment you can find, slandering somebody and just giving off that douchebag vibe you're claiming Moe has. People just can't stand to see someone doing better than themselves and feel the need to throw stones at them. Get a real life people.

slander...you keep using that term. i don't think it means what you think it means. thanks, fezzik.

if all you have to add to the discussion is argument and personal attack without any evidence that contadict the claims made, tread lightly.

Edit: Why? I already had to smoke one account today that started off on this same tack.

I think this thread has more than enough evidence to back my allegations about catchy name.

Regarding the slander statement. I am 100% positive that I am using it in the right context. These people are making false allegations about Moe himself. Claiming he doesnt care about the beer community and saying he cuts lines, sells beers he traded for and calling him a douchebag numerous times. Can I ask where the proof is for any of these allegations? A receipt with purchased goods? Pictures or video of him cutting lines? No, its all hearsay. Thats all I have to add to this conversation. So I will now bow out after the threat of being banned from this website for backing up a personal friend.

As a casual observer who has thought about buying beer from Craft Beer Kings, I have been following this thread with interest. Moe did appear at one point to apologize for his flashy instagram account. That was good of him. He did suggest people should get to know him. That's fine, too. I think a lot of people are still going after him on here because they feel he cuts line, uses mules, and otherwise hordes beers at the expense of people who would like to drink the beer and enjoy it, while some feel that his interest has little to do with the beer and more to do with the money.

Moe has not responded to these other claims despite quite a good passage of time. That is only adding fuel to the fire. If he'd respond, that could address a lot of your issues with this thread.

You are not. Slander refers to spoken statements, the word you are looking for is libel. Hearsay also doesn't really apply here, because people are speaking of things they have seen rather than reporting things they were told by another.

Anyway, please continue with the thread. Since I didn't know anything about the guy before reading this thread, this has been a great read when I have a few spare minutes during work.

Slander-make false and damaging statements about (someone)

Statement-a definite or clear expression of something in speech or writing

lol. nothing like generalizing when you're out of your depth.

the legal term you're looking for is libel.

that's the end of your argument.

do you have anything substantive to add? if not, your part in this conversation is at an end.

English is a difficult language, but libel is what you are looking for. As what was posted by Trilogy, slander is spoken, libel is written.

Edit: Sniped by staff, or to keep on the thread topic...."cut in line" by staff... cwhatididthar? Yep. That happened.

I'm in the same boat. Never heard of CBK's till this thread.

I appreciate receiving details like this. It's like reading the negative reviews on Yelp or Amazon. They may be few in some cases, but one or two can be more accurate and more valuable than the other 10-20 positive ones that tend to over-glorify.

Never heard of CBK's either. But after hearing about the line cutting, muling, illegal beer selling and price gouging, would never EVER buy anything from this place. Too many other places that deserve my beer budget dollars.

I can't believe that there isn't some sort of shady beer purveyor's deal in place where Freddy defends Moe and Moe defends Freddy.

I'll chime in because I've been following this thread after a friend tried to order from them. He said the site was awesome, tons of rare stuff we don't see in GA, and he had money burning a hole in his wallet. He ordered 12 bottles, all shown in stock, and got an email stating four of them were not in stock, three were priced wrong, and one other had a reserve limit (he ordered two) of one bottle. That seemed off to me. Sure, one mistake once in a while on an order is possible, but eight out of twelve? To me it sounded like whoever handles their website is asleep, but reading this thread it sounds more like a bait technique to get people in, and maybe charge more for lesser desired stuff. I don't know per say, but it sounds fishy enough with the reports of his other shady practices. We have a similar place local to us who does a ton of hyping beers up through social media, making bold claims, and promising to take care of everyone looking to shop there, and it's all an act as he sells it off to his friends only or hoards it for himself. Businesses who treat people like that piss me off, as it tarnishes everyone in the community. Sounds like Moe is running one of those businesses.

I must say this thread is fantastic for obvious reasons, but also very helpful. I'm going to be in CA in March and it's really nice to know the places to visit and avoid.
