I was suppose to hook up with a buddy but he ended up having to do chores all day. Wife and daughter are on a ladies day trip so I ordered gross takeout and I'm drinking my fridge down. Anyone is welcome to join, in person or virtually. Think of the fun now that the pumpkins are no longer needed! TO THE ROOF!

Sounds like you lucked out to me Ray! Meanwhile I'm drinking a Sour Ale-Chocolate from Pizza Boy. I'm the biggest homer there is but this beer is flat out not good. I should have known when Al himself called it terrible. I'm a ticker and a fanboi, I had to try it.

 

So, I've been drinking in a barn in Ohio all day.....

If no one else hooked you up yet, let me talk with my buddy I went with. Im sure he'd be open to working something out. I would myself, but I already have too many already taken

 

Alright, serious beer question time. Are wet hops inherently harder to work with? Are my expectations out of whack? I've had about a dozen wet hopped beers this season, and frankly almost all of them have fallen short of expectation. Admittedly some have been quite good but because of the brewer I had even loftier expectations than of others; and some have been downright 'meh'.

I still have Founders Harvest in the fridge, the last one I expect I'll try this year, so I'm hoping to be wowed there; but Three Floyds, Sierra Nevada, Shorts, Troegs, Terrapin, Sixpoint, Port Brewing... the only one I really thought was great was the Troegs Scratch 161 when I first had it on tap, but a day later I had it out of a bottle and somehow it was significantly less impressive. All of those listed are great breweries that I will go back to without needing to know anything but who made it, but these just didn't do anything special for me.

 

I'll be traveling up I-95 through GA, SC, NC to VA next weekend. I won't have much time to deviate from the I-95 corridor, but was wondering if there is anything special available I should look out for? I know Lindley Park releases around this time. Is that something I might see, or would I have to travel farther West towards Charlotte? Anything interesting from Westbrook in the near future?

 

As much as I love IPA's, I am not a fan of wet hopped beers. They just don't make my naughty parts tingle. If a beer can't do that what's the point.
