Brains Black (any Welsh in tonight?)

    So basically I've been hearing some good things about this stuff. From my quick rummage through the search, I noticed that a few posters have mentioned this brewery, but is this stuff as good as I hear it is, or is it sorely overrated? Been trying to find ways to get my hands on a case of it, but can't seem to find a web shop that delivers, including Brains own webshop.

    So, any thoughts on what some call "Guinness with attitude"?

    I see it in pretty much every Brains pub I go too (on nitro tap) and in all the supermarkets (in nitro cans) but I never really fancied it (because of all the nitro).

    Well, should you ever have any Belgian beer wants or just fancy helping a Belgian nitro stout lover out with a case of these puppies, let me know :grinning:

    I think they sell it in 24-packs standard? If less (like 6), that's absolutely fine too.

    Well in the shops/supermarkets they sell them in 4-packs. Maybe more, i've never paid much attention.

    It comes in 24 packs, I am trying to get a beer trip to Belgium sorted, so if we drive over then I may be able to ring a case, it may require a bit of travel on your part as I am not sure were we will go yet. It may not be for a while but I will try and remember and send you a message.

    Excellent, massive thanks. If you're going to be travelling by train, I'll make sure to give you all the info you need on how to get the cheapest tickets and I'll sniff around if you need cheap accoms anywhere.

    I reckon I'll be in the UK before that. Friend of mine re-located to the London area, but from what I understand they only sell it around the Wales area?

    I know Brains has a presence in London, but as far as the Black goes I don't know, maybe a London local can fill you in, you could always have it delivered to your friend in London, or just get yourself to Cardiff where you can try it on tap along with some of the better Brains beers.

    Yeah, that still doesn't help with the silly expensive shipping. He's found work by now but I wouldn't have him throw 40 quid at P&P for 24 cans of beer :grinning: We'll see if we can sort something out though.

    If anyone knows where you can get this in London I would love to know. This was one of my favorite beers when I went to the UK a few years ago. I will be in London next October and wouldnt mind finding some when I visit.

    I would be able to bring over some US beers to trade for it if you were interested.

    Based on some online research a place in London called Famous Three Kings is supposed to have it on draft. I am not sure how accurate that information is though.

    Depending on how long you're staying you could always get a train to Cardiff and spend some time there, as it's only 2 hours though you could easily do a day trip.

    The Famous Three Kings (F3K) website states that they are "Proud to serve Brains Black" so it looks pretty likely that they do.They are on Facebook so you could send them a message just to make sure.
