Status update: I have to be on site at a client in 6.5 hours. Both bags are packed as best I can, sitting at 49lbs-ish each. Fingers crossed it makes it safe home tomorrow!

Tried to open a Zombie Dust, discovered I don't have a bottle opener. After a few false starts with edges of things (sink is too round, top of toliet is too round, everything else sucks in the hotel room) I did what any respectable business traveler does: I asked the front desk dude. He scrounged and found me a can opener, which had a bottle opener. Success! Finishing off a final Zombie Dust, because I literally have no space for it in my luggage left.

Chicago, man.

I gave my Chicago Cubs keychain bottle opener (given to me by an ex) to a buddy who recently got into the Cubs. I have found myself a couple times without an opener and pissed off I gave it away.

This was so close to me, and yet so far away. Sad feels, bros. Sad feels.

 

So I have been feeling a bit under the weather. I got a bug that my little girl had. So I couldn't sleep last night due to a sore throat and cough and the last thing I did was read the thread and take come concoction of medicine I probably shouldn't have mixed. The last thing I read was about the Chicago meet up.

What do I dream about?................I'm on a train to Chicago and I pull the cord that stops the train and I find it stops next to Wrigley Field............and it is some weird version of a mid-western Marti Gras going on. Food Venders everywhere selling meat.............lots of games and rides...........and they turned Wrigley into a racetrack..................for horses. there was literally a horserace going on around the ball field. In my dram I'm thinking WTH??? Then I see a beer vendor stand.....selling Westbrook Gose. I get all excited in my dream.............break out the $6 it going to cost me...........and my daughter YELLLS that she has to go potty and wakes me up. 2:45 AM. I was still groggy from the medicine cocktail. I kinda wish I could have started dreaming that dream again, b/c who knows what would have happened next?

I have to stop mixing medicines.

 

I went my first time approx a year ago before I knew you guys and it truly is an incredible city. All the talk about Chicago pizza is making me want to go back! Now that I have a handful of new FIB friends it should be sooner than later.

EDIT: when I first started getting into trading I had to google FIB and Chicago flag because I had no idea what the Midwest was yammering about haha.

 

FIB I will be in Chicago for dark Lord day. My girlfriend and I look forward to meeting all of you

So, it was the wife's birthday yesterday and we went out for a nice sushi dinner

...then I somehow talked her into meeting up for a drink with @blue-dream @richardflyr @TastyDelicousness @end_27 & Karl. It was awesome to meet up with a couple guys from this community for the 1st time in person; even if it was only for a drink (I was not expecting the wife to be so agreeable, but she was a good sport...and loves Zombie Dust ).

And while I wasn't able to partake in any 20% Root Beer with you folks, I appreciate the welcome into this awesome family and look forward to meeting up & throwing a few back with you all in the future.

Have a safe trip back to VA @richardflyr and I hope to be able to stay for a few more next time you're in town.
