I had nice. Lost those. Now it's anything I can find. I must have had a bottle opener troll steal everything I've had. I've probably lost 35-40 over the years

    And this one:

And used to have one like this except it was from Middle Ages:

My friends have one that's basically a giant wooden dildo with the bottle opener on one end. They got it in Barcelona I guess?

    All my out-of-the-ordinary openers.

Top to bottom, left to right:
Bottle wrench that I made, don't use much anymore
Railroad spike forged opener, made by hammeronsteel on Etsy, my everyday use opener, opens wax tops uncut.
Bourbon Barrel stave opener with magnet and wax cutter, made by Yopeners on Etsy, my newest, doesn't bend caps.
Dillo by Larue Tactical, my first cool opener, is actually worn enough that it doesn't work right, need to order another.
Boker damascus steel opener, great pocketable opener, opens wax tops without cutting wax.

Better pic of the Boker damascus opener.

Yes, I like unusual/cool bottle openers.

Been on my keychain for nearly 40 years (thus the worn brewery name and address and elongated keyring hole) which once read:

    KRUEGER
    BEER - ALE
    G. KRUEGER BREWING CO.
    NEWARK, NJ

As a tot, I lived about 5 miles from the brewery (which closed in 1960 - a few years after I moved) but still remember the region's "K-Man" billboards.

Never had the beer when it was brewed in Newark as far as I know (my folks were Ballantine, Schaefer and Rheingold drinkers at the time, and I, of course, took sips of all of those) but had a few after it became a Narragansett/Falstaff brand, including the draught-only, near-legendary (well, maybe....) Krueger Old Surrey Porter.

That looks like it's been put to good use.

Was my grandfather's, I've used it for 25 years. I'm not a top collector but it doesn't bend them at all, just barely lifts the crimp. I snap the tops back on bombers and still need to use the opener to get them off the second time. I suspect it is pre 1950 when they changed the product name to Golden Old Topper (Jesskiddin?). In any event, I love it and use it every day.

My weapon of choice. It came from a Sammy Smith's gift box deal that had a beer, pint glass, opener, and some cheap coasters. The opener is the only thing I've kept as I love it (It's HEAVY).

Got this for my bday last year from my mom, and I've used it a LOT since then. It's the size of a business card, so it fits right in your wallet. It's perfect for the 'on-the-go' alcoholic

I'm a fan. It's super quick and easy. The magnet gets it lined up pretty nicely and it comes off very easily.

And doesn't damage the caps so I can build something with them. A little pricey but I had to have one. Actually two.

Ya, you could actually put the cap back on if you wanted to. It won't have the best seal but its still serviceable.

Never heard of "Golden Old Topper" - the brand name switched from "Old Topper" to just "Topper" for both their ale and lager beer sometime in the 1950s - so, maybe around the same time Rochester and Standard merged to form Standard-Rochester Brewing Co. in 1956?

But, yeah, that style cap-lifter opener (called an "E-4" in the breweriana opener hobby's own classification method) is probably easily pre-1950.

I hate threads that need a picture to be involved seeing as how I'm either too stupid to figure out how to post pics or BA needs to step up their game and make it an easier process...ANYWHO, I have a buddy that enjoys woodworking as a hobby and scored a stave from one of Perennials old barrels. Got a sweet opener made from that stave. Betcha wish I would post a pic of that sweet piece, huh? Yeah...me too.

Save the picture to a file on your computer.
    Go to www.tinypic.com.
Click 'Choose File' and file the picture.
Press the upload now button and upload it.
After it uploads, open another tab to BA. Click the icon at the top of the reply box next to the smiley face. Hovering your mouse over the icon, it should say 'Image'.
Copy and paste the 'Direct Link for Layouts' from the tinypic page into the dialogue box that pops up after hit the image button.
Press insert and you are good to go.

OK pretty lady you got me to post.
Nothing fancy or awesome, so I guess it's just basic.
I like it because it doesn't bend the bottle caps,
so I have them all around the house:slight_smile:
