My sister is in the Navy and stationed in Seattle. She asked me if there were any beers I wanted that were exclusive to the area she should send me. Any recommendations?
Send her over to Fremont on a regular basis. Right now she can pick up KDS and possibly the two variants (coffee and spice). I believe Bourbon Abominable is due out in about 3 weeks.
Sand Point closed down years ago. Do you know where she is stationed exactly??? Everett, Bremerton, Bangor............ Lots of good beer here. Don't want her having to drive too far.......
Regular KDS has been long gone. I think Coffee was gone yesterday, only Spice Wars left, and that wont last much longer. BBOMB should be coming out soon and who knows if they will do variants for it.
KDS is still available around town, if not the brewery. I've seen it at two stores in the last 24 hours. B-bomb variants? That would be awesome.
Yeah, definitely around town, just not the brewery. And thats just wishful thinking on my part for BBOMB variants. I don't think there was really much talk about KDS variants before they decided to destroy my wallet.
That would be Kitsap Peninsula. Not to be confused with the Olympic Peninsula. We have quite a few breweries in the area but I can not vouch for any of their stouts so someone else will need to chime in. For bottles, Elysian in Seattle make Dragonstooth Oatmeal Stout and Split Shot both which I am fond of. Marina Market in Poulsbo is a good place for her to do some sisterly shopping. Central Market is also right up the hill. I seriously don't know who bottles around here other than Silver City. When I am out, I tend to drink what is on tap and local. Fremont's distro in Kitsap county has historically been poor so if you want her to pick you some up, she either needs to jump on a ferry or wander down to Pint Defiance in Tacoma. Both are fun trips.
Sound Brewing, out of Poulsbo, bottles, and, IIRC, makes a nice little stout. Their Belgians are good too, if you're into that.
Sound's Ursus Speleaus is an outstanding Belgian stout as well. Definitely checkout Marina Market's website to see if anything catches your eye, they list their beers and have a huge selection.
