By far the best piece of glassware that I own!

They're bad for the environment, cheap, and you can play games with them... Beer is serious business. You didn't get the memo?

I normally go in the kitchen and "get a beer" when I'm at the house (referring to a single 12oz can or bottle, whether poured into a glass or not), or ask for "a {insert-beer-name-here}" when I'm at a restaurant or bar. Sometimes I'll ask how big the glass is for clarification to determine whether it's worth the price asked, and if it's 16 ounces, well then I guess it's a [U.S.] pint--but I'm still likely to order "another {insert-beer-name-here}", not "another pint".

I ask for a specific beer/product; not a serving size. This is primarily because sizes can vary, but I still like to know how much it costs and for what amount of beer. If served a bottle, you'll probably get the ubiquitous 12-ounce bottle poured into a 16-ounce U.S. shaker pint, but if the beer is draught you might get a bit more lucky and receive a decent pour that's closer to an actual pint. The only two things I make sure to clarify are that I do NOT want a chilled glass, and no citrus fruit!

I drink just about all my beer from Snifters, Tulips, and Balloon glasses. Doesn't matter what brand or style that's just my preferance. I really don't think it should bother anyone if I'm drinking a kolsch out of an oversized snifter.

I don't think Thorpe has posted in this thread yet, but he must seriously have over 1000 glasses. I swear every single beer I ever seen him check in on Untappd has been in the correct glassware. It blows my mind. Mike, don't know how you do it

    I've noticed that too.
I did alright by OP's standards yesterday, even gave him a shout out.

Yeah, but it's like the old saying "Even a broken clock is right twice a day". If you use the same glass every time, you're gonna match up eventually

And sorry for shouting you out again Thorpe, but even the bottle opener matched yesterday!!

Thanks for all the excellent conversations.. It appears I brought out peoples passion on this topic. Yet, let me redirect to the OP. My pet peeve was not drinking with a mismatched glass. I could care less about that. My pet peeve was with PHOTOGRAPHING mixed brands (glass v. bottle) as it was distracting to eye. No big deal...just a pet peeve.

I own about 150 different logoed glasses (not counting a few dozen duplicates) and whenever possible I use the correct glass but often that is not possible, there are too many breweries and I drink way way too much (cough sputter). In the case that I don't have the exact right glass with the exact right logo, it goes into a tulip, cerviose or a style specific appropriate glass. For photos of the correct beer in the correct glass follow me on twitter @drabmuh, just a feed of my glassware collection and a bunch of beer in it.

I get that. I wouldn't say I have that pet peeve necessarily, but I get it.

I'd whole heartedy agree with you if this wasn't the internet.

But I totally understand how that could be a pet peeve.

Haha. I rarely use the branded glass of whatever brewery I happen to be drinking. In fact, I get more use out of my perfect pint than pretty much any other glass(it's why I have four). I'll just grab a random snifter or tulip if I know I don't have that brewery's glass. I take a picture of pretty much every beer I drink, and only very rarely do I care what the glass says.

    Just to annoy the OP:
