All in the eyes...and mouths of the "Beer Holder ".
That's what makes this web site great.

0 so far but I'm still looking. I'm not against the notion but I'm not going to make it easy.

I have four so far, with plenty of close ones.

    PseudoSue
    King Sue
    Not Your Father's Root Beer
    Hommage

I love the tropical style IPAs and feel that there's none better than those TG brews. NYFRB is perfect for a root beer styled beer, and Hommage is still the best sour ale I've had, though there have been a few in that category that have been very close. Still haven't found my perfect stout yet.

I got 5: Nelson, Rochefort 10, KBS, BCBS, and Pliny. I don't necessarily think they are all perfect, but I got so much enjoyment out of them I couldnt give them anything other than the maximum score.

Gandhi Bot is my only 5/5, but I don't see the score meaning its a perfect beer. I have no clue what it evens means to be a perfect beer, all I know is Gandhi Bot is the most enjoyable beer I've had in my 2 years of craft beer drinking.

Also, I have 4 or 5 beers that are really close to 5/5 and the only reason they didn't get it is I only had them on one occasion. Need to have a beer multiple times to get a true test of how much I really like it.

Huna and Pliny were the only two 5's I had given for a long time. I have a few more now, but not many.

49 Ha! That's too many. I don't think I originally gave them a perfect score when I rated them over 5 years ago. Beeradvocate changed their rating sytem a long time ago and I think it rounded them up.

No one can ever really know if a beer is perfect, so I'm not waiting for that mythical beer to give out a five. I give out a five when a beer leaves me completely satisfied.

I've given six beers perfect scores, and looking back I'm not sure the first one (KBS) should be a 5. It was however the beer that got me into this craft beer thing so I have no intention of changing it. The other five are BCBCS, Bell's Black Note Stout, BCBS, Central Waters BBA Barleywine, and BBA Imperial Biscotti Break.

Love me some Dragon's Milk, didn't give it a 5, but it's his decision to rate it how he feels.

Zero. I don't think that a 5 is impossible but I think that they should be very, very rare.

1/1540 ...and honestly it was before 4.75 was an option for rating. If I were to re-review it it would be slightly lower-but still my top beer. It was 2010 Duvel Tripel Hop..and with regular Duvel being a 4.9 I would have to do a major review overhaul to adapt to the new system.

I haven't given any 1/5 either. My median score is actually a 4...the word descriptor used to say 4=good. And I'm not going to purchase any beers that I don't think will be "good."

    I have 6.

Jai Alai, just the best IPA for me to drink at any time for any occasion and I can't get enough. Perfect for me.
Ayinger Oktober Fest-Märzen, best example of this style for my tongue. Endlessly refreshing and delicious.
Ayinger Celebrator Doppelbock, this is the newest addition to the list. Had it with dinner and was just fan-girling how delicious it was.
Cafe Con Leche Milk Stout, this tasted like my cuban childhood. Straight up cafe con leche in a glass and no one can tell me different.
Chimay Blue, this was my original favorite beer before craft. It's still in my top 5 to this day, and a bottle will always make me smile.
And finally, St Bernardus Abt 12. I discovered this as a natural progression from Chimay and knew that I needed to continue drinking beer for the rest of time.

So, some of my perfect scores have to do with more than just taste, but that's okay too. Where's my Jai Alai?? :stuck_out_tongue:

A perfect 5 from me would have to be both a style definer and a beer that I would keep going back to. There might be a couple out there, but I'm a pretty harsh critic who reviews everything using the attribute system and I always hesitate to hand out a 5 for any individual attribute. For something to get a 5 in appearance, aroma, taste and feel would be a stretch and that's the only time I would hand out a 5 for overall rather than a 4.75.
