Sculpin is a great beer. One of my all time favorites, but it is way overpriced. I hope they can figure out how to distribute out to a wider audience and lower the price. I mean you can buy torpedo on sale $12.99 for a 12 pack of bottles or cans. Is Sculpin better? Definitely! But, its not that much better!

Sculpin falls off at day 15. If I can find it fresh, I'll buy it every time. Problem being, it routinely arrives at my usual store at 2 1/2 weeks. *sigh*

It's my go to IPA here in Northern New York. I've been getting the 6 pack cans and it's always awesome. $15 is not an issue for me when it's so good.

I won't drink any IPA after it's been bottled. The brewery literally has to pour it straight from the fermenter.

Being in Maryland you should be lucky you get it that soon.

I'm in NE Ohio so Sculpin, although pretty damned tasty, is drowned in a sea of excellence. It's $14.99, which is just stupid considering that there are superior beers around at a lower price. I really liked Habanero Sculpin, though.

Fresh Sculpin (<30 days) nor Grapefruit Sculpin are price gouged at $15/6pk IMHO. YMMV

I occasionally buy a single 12 oz of it but almost never in sixers anymore. It tastes different to me than it did when I first tried it but that could just be me. So many good IPAs on the market now. Even Union Jack is $3-$5 cheaper. I still like it but it's not a must buy anymore.

    A. If dude says it's overpriced then it's overpriced to him.
    B. Just because one can afford something doesn't mean it's worth it.

I have had it here in upstate NY, but even fresh, it was way overpriced. Flower Power is a better alternative.

I can only speak for my experiences and my palate, obviously. Personally, I dont think its unusual for someone who has tried hundreds of IPAs to be able to tell the difference between fresh and aged beer. But thats just my opinion. Lets not have it ruin your whole weekend.

Yes..it's aged older than fresh. I could also call it "past it's prime" or "mediocre" if you prefer. If we stop and think about this though...Sculpin freshness threads are a regular occurrence on here.

I have only had Sculpin once (bottle) and it was maybe the best IPA I have had (maybe tied with Wicked Weed Hop Burglar). No idea how fresh it was.

I have been surprised to see well-stocked places in San Diego now with sixes of three different Sculpin flavors-- Original, Habanero, and Double Stuff or whatever the hell it is.
