Backwoods Bastard price?

Cost to retail in SE Michigan was a bit higher this year which is leading you to seeing inflated prices. Do not blame the stores you shop altogether, but Founders and the distros themselves. We sold it for $12.99 last year, $14.99 this year.

 

Case prices went up almost $15 this year compared to last (In Indiana at least). I have no idea why but that's pretty ridiculous. Any place that sells it at $11.99 is almost losing money.

bought a 4 pack for $13.99 in Livonia yesterday...

 

In Washtenaw County I bought it at 3 places (all one 4pk limit) for $15.99, $15.99, and $19.99.

If this signals a trend, I'm also worried for BC pricing. Last year we only seemed to get the regular, and every place I went was $8/btl (limit 1), except for the one now infamous (to me anyway) place selling 4 packs for...$59.99.

 

BC pricing is set to rise this year, unfortunately, not sure how much yet here.

Just got back from Nashville, TN and a store there was selling BB for 16.49/4-pack. Counter guy said it was going out the door pretty steadily. They had 4+ cases on the floor, btw.

 

Rise from what though? I mean I saw 4 packs regularly for 40.00

I imagine the wholesale price increased marginally - I think last year it was around $20/4pk? Hopefully that won't have too much effect around here, since our prices last year were so much higher than wholesale already.

 

Just bought it at $14.99 + tax which in the city of Chicago means I ended up paying 30 bucks.

So far I've paid $12.99, $14.99 and $15.99 in Milwaukee

 

I can only base this off of what we were charging. I think we were $5.49/12oz last year, so in theory, your $40/4pks shouldn't change in price

 

Hopefully you did not buy from the store that was selling it for $40/4pk. Unfortunately, stores that gouge seem to get these products, and as many of you may pass on paying that price, someone will end up paying the price for it. They will do it again and again. It is up to the consumers to find the stores that price their products fairly and support them with their beer needs. Slowly those stores will lose the battle with their allocations, but we are far from that!

Great price! $2 cheeaper than the brewery. Has been $14- 16 plus deposit/tax around here.

 

That post was from last year. A beer manager (might have been @aasher) said the case price went up like $15 this year, so anyone selling for that price is probably borderline losing money.
