Had a small bottle share last night. Got to try some really great beers courtesy of @BuckTuckian, figured I'd post my 2 favorites of the night.

 

I saw that share on the other thread, looks like it was an awesome time.

 

Not much going on here today so I figured I'd open this up

 

First time participating in the VBS but with the Packers playing like they are I figure no better time to open a big bottle with a buddy:

 

Yay beer!

 

How is that? I just got a bottle and am curious about it.

 

It's pretty good. Nice mix of chocolate and nuttiness. I've had the BA version as well, which was fantastic.

 

How was that? I've never had anything from SARA but it seems like they have quite the reputation

 

The Saison Bernice I got to try (ironically at @PA-Michigander's house, though it wasn't his bottle) was incredible, so I'm curious about this too.

Thanks a ton @UcDru for two awesome boxes. You hit a ton of wants and styles! I am very grateful for your generous boxes!

 

I've had small pours of the Saison Bernice and Love's Armor (American Wild). Both were pretty awesome. I'm definitely looking for more SARA.

 

I went the cheap route and opted for plastic. I don't have a functioning dishwasher and wasn't about to hand wash 81 sample glasses.

 

I've been lucky enough to try a few SARA offerings and while good this bottle fell short of the three other bottles I've had from SARA. It was a dark/black color which through me for a loop but there was some funk and a very minimal amount of salt, which I had hoped there would be more of. Definitely one of the better saison/farmhouse beers I've had mainly because it bordered on a light sour to me.

 

Fair enough; 81 is a very large number... the longest Vertical I have planned will be 12 bottles, but I'll probably only have 5 people doing it, so even that's only 60.

 

Hope you like should have been a t-shirt in the box too from madtree no?

So I hope this doesn't come out the wrong way but there is a chance it will. This is the very reason I really don't like sending first when trading with someone. Yes, I sent a nice care package of local and Pizza Boy beers to @Clarkson. However this is how he responded:

I'm not sure what is more impressive: this haul or that he fit this in a six shipper, well three quarters of a six shipper.
