well... after a week away, @Lehighace06 will be happy to know that the box is in my possession. And... being a good government employee, we're getting off a half day today, so y'all east-coasters should have some nice after-dinner pron....

 

Just wanted to make sure since you temporarily lost a KBS in the first didn't want you to mistake it for packing material . Enjoy buddy and the chili is a Cincinnati staple and those are the two rival brands so I will be curious to see if you like either or both better.

And for the record this was a return box of more than just a few local Pizza Boy beers. When I said something to the effect of "Ooh, I like that glass", you pop up and say "send me your address". I have seen you do this more than a few times across this site. So don't think I'm trying to win a trade, just thanking you for some of that unwarranted generosity that you spread. That, and you just got lucky with me unloading a good haul as I was packing your box.


And I have no idea how I got all that shit in there. I must have been drinking.

 

This is awesome. I'm glad to see Nick get paid back a bit for all the shit he does around here (not to say he never does, but it's great to see it in such a big way).

I also really love that "don't think I'm trying to win a trade" is phrased in the sense that "winning" = "crushing someone's porch better than they crushed yours" (and even better, that you feel the need to apologize for doing it). I know that it's generally the mantra around here, but I really like when someone voices this definition of the term "winning" (as opposed to the definition used on the ISO:FT board which is "I got a better/rarer/more valuable bottle than I had to give up")

Well then, with @blackcloud's outgoing package having landed, and mine going to him having landed, it looks like the AK boxes are all done, and he and I have spoken about dispensing the collected funds to cover these costs.

As some of you may know, we received a good deal more in donations than the two of us need. As promised, I won't be keeping these extra funds to myself, but will do something for the benefit of the group as a whole. Stay tuned.

WOOT! I'm so glad everything made it safe and sound, this is the first box I was legitimately worried about it, the distance, the weight, and the fact that I could barely get the flaps closed because it wasn't really a big enough box in the first place (for >50lbs of beer, what single box is?).

The unmarked beer is a homebrew saison; it's not a very exciting example of the style, apparently the champagne yeast I used to finish the last few points of gravity stripped most of the yeast esters. Live and learn...

The apple is a "local" treat because it's one that my 3 year old picked off the tree himself when we did apple picking/pumpkin patch for the season. I hope the Tastykakes aren't too squished, for obvious reasons I was a bit nervous about this. My offer is still on the table to send you a flat rate box with some Irvin's Spiced Wafers (and some Peanut Chews might make it into the box) if that's something you'd like to try.

The Iron Hill Russian Imperial Stout is one of the big medal winners in the box. If you didn't catch that post, there are a ton of GABF medals represented in that box, including a couple from this year. I saved the list, so I'll post it when I get to work.
