Think the last time Fou Foune was on shelves here it was $60. Mamouche, Lou Pepes $55, St. Lam, Vig $45. Markup what?

well I think if anything this thread is just an example of this. trying to trade $4$ for Cantillon is a tricky path to take, better off doing research on the trade boards

Price went up by about 25% across the board for what little we got here in Canada this year. Lou Pepes used to be $26-$28 or so, this year it was about $35.

I paid about $39 for st vam and lp gueuze and about $16 for classic 375 in Italy this past week, not sure if that helps but it was quite expensive but doesn't look too out of line

Probably a little bit late, but I have bought a dozen or so Cantillon bottles off the shelf in the US in the past 6 months.

    Mamouche - $36
    Fou' Foune - $30
    St. Lam - $35
Classic Gueuze 375 mL - $7 once (not sure if this was a pricing error, or what - pointed it out to store owner, said that's what he paid distributor for it...) and $13
    Classic Gueuze 750 - $20
    Iris - $27
    Vigneronne - $26
    Rose 375 - $13

The Mamouches and Iris were purchased from a store that I generally feel inflates prices a bit on "special" or rare stuff and I think those prices are higher than they should have been by ~$5. Otherwise, I was happy what I paid for pretty much all of this. The St. Lams were weird - retail should have been probably more like $30, I'd think, and I bought Fou at the same place for $30, but I love the beer so much I was happy to pay $35.

Still have never seen an LP for sale in the states, nor a regular Kriek (which I find super weird). Luckily I can get my fill of regular Kriek easily enough from Belgium still...

I paid 10 euro for a 375 of Kriek Bio and 20 euro for a 750 of Iris (~$13.50 and $27, respectively) at a bar in Florence, Italy about a month ago. I'm happy after reading this thread, it seems like I got a fair price. It was the first time I had laid eyes on Cantillon and I would've paid about anything reasonable.

It's called Max Pub, a couple blocks from the train station. Found it thanks to some other threads in the Europe forum.

Just saw a Fou at a local bar for $45. Guess that's a good price to experience it for the first time?

It's not a good price but you won't find it any cheaper

Actually that's a pretty great bar price. I'd buy all the FF I could get at $45.

I suppose so, but if your goal is to just acquire or try Fou, then I think what you should look at is the cost to trade vs that $45 price. and then $45 looks very "eh". you could probably do better but figuring in time and shipping not by much

(also where I live no bars are allowed to go sales)

I got St G for $27 and a 375 of Classic for $12 within the past 6 months, but I tend to agree.

It's $80 + shipping and available on The Belgian Shop dot com right now. Plus they have some lower-end Cantillon's available too... this may be your cheaper route. Also, it's rare they have such a selection. I've been looking since early this year.
