Guess I could find out, I have some Peruvian morning from a few years ago in the cellar that's quite infected

Had a 2011 last night it was fantastic. Very smooth. The tobacco flavor thinned out. It was nice to try an aged stout where the barrel does not dominate. I might pick up a couple of these to cellar.

This is one of the reasons I moved to Boise. It's nice being able to buy this without a fight.

I think this date is inaccurate. The Deschutes website still says there is no release date, and this appears to be a retread of the announcement from 2013.

Am I really the only one let down by abyss? I'll still try it but not really keen on getting bottles.

Had a 2010 a few months ago and it was fantastic. Would love to see what this stuff would taste like 100% barrel aged tho.

This is one of my absolute favorites. I love Deschutes' gentle use of the barrel--enough to bring some flavor, but subtle enough to let the other flavors shine.

I'll be in Portland in early December - is there any chance I'll actually be able to get a bottle? My brother was there earlier this year and snagged a vintage from a brewery event, but he'll be sharing it with friends and family at Christmas while I'm a couple thousand miles away. It'd be great to be drinking the same thing on the other side of the country!

Anyone know if they've distro'd these to LA/Socal with previous vintages?

Looking forward to it. Not The Stoic & Black Butte XXVI have been 2 of my favorite beers of 2014.

Yes, but not in huge quantities. I had to hit several stores to manage to get 4 bottles, and it took a good number of misses to get that many hits. Sometimes the best luck is with the less popular (in terms of beer selection) Whole Foods locations. I think I ended up getting 3 over the course of a week at the WF Westwood.

When did we see this in Illinois last year? Prior to Black Friday, correct?

I am with you! Its not the best...its definitely better than average...I think there is some decent batch variation from year to year, that or it always needs 2-3 years to sit.

Yeah they screwed up the date. It first says November 13th, 2014 and then November 14th, 2013. Someone is dyslexic.

Thank you. I will definitely try Whole Foods, although I haven't had much luck at them previously. I guess it just takes hitting up a bunch of locations.
