I like that 2nd part; truthfully I put up that I wanted 8 but was planning on pulling the trigger as long as I got to 6, the bottle makes for a good 'extra' or BIF item, I just can't afford more than a couple of them.

To @mbmiche and @PG2G would either of you (or anyone else that is interested) be interested in more than 1 each? Of course more people getting to try it is the priority, but if there are more bottles than interested parties I'd be happy to send multiples.

It sounds like something my friend that wants the Vanilla Buffalo Sweat would like so I could probably get another one for her. Don't think I'd want to go too far beyond that. Could either give you money or we could work it into our trade

Was curious if anyone had a line on Pelican's Mother of All Storms going on sale this weekend. I had a vintage one once and loved it and would love to try it fresh.

Working it into our trade is easy, if I get the case consider it done. If I don't get the case, I think I still have a second bottle of my own from when I was at Pizza Boy, so if I'm right, I'll make sure at least one makes its way into your box no matter what.

Awesome. I was over there last night to try their new baltic porter that's coming out next week. Matt, the head brewer, told me that they can't make the IPA fast enough.

I'll pass word along that they have a fan in NH.

The porter is solid, though their Oktoberfest was better in my opinion.

The Mole Porter was pretty decent, though not outstanding (which honestly describes most of their beer I think). I really enjoyed the Berliner Weisse they did and paired it with 6 or so syrups (something fairly traditional for Berliner Weisse, but not something I'd tried before).

Honestly I mostly stop by because its on my way to Town Hall/Republic when I'm walking and the food is ridiculously good. Awesome pizza, awesome soft pretzels.

The history/tradition of Berliner Weisse is very intriguing to me; using syrups is referred to (not just by you) as 'traditional' because it's something they do in Germany; interestingly though it's not at all a tradition, but a recent trend with that style. In a truly 'traditional' sense, the beer was drank like any other, straight off the tap. Between Berliner and gose, Germans seem to like sour beer as much as the Belgians.

Yeah, very much a "I'm in the neighborhood" kind of place versus a destination for me. True for a lot of the new taprooms/Brewpubs here. I'm not in that area too often.

I looked for you Mike, you must have shown up after I left. (or maybe you were there and I just didn't see you).

I figured you would be there but didn't see you. Got there later. Then spent too much money on a new hoodie I don't really need, but feel like I should support them, not that they need it, was there Saturday and it was jam packed.

According to http://www.germanbeerinstitute.com/Berliner_Weisse.html the practice dates back to the 19th century, which is pretty decently old. I wouldn't say its traditional in the way 'that's how its normally drunk' as much as 'this is something we've done to it occasionally for a while now'. Agreed though that the whole syrup thing appears to be much more common in Germany now than it ever has been before.

Good point; I wasn't aware the practice went back nearly that far; my impression was it was the last few decades only. Maybe it's only been a more common thing to do in that span of time, but was done as you said occasionally of that period.

Personally I don't mind Berliners with syrup as long as it's added with restraint; I actually quite like the flavor of the woodruff (as long as only so much is used that there isn't too much sweetness). With that said, even with Bear Republic's Tartare I don't feel that the beer needs the syrup to be palatable.

Agreed, I like Berliner's without syrup just fine; fun to drink. Trying Day Block's without syrup and with 5 or 6 different syrups added was really cool.
