Exactly, let's not make this more complicated than simple math!

It is rather stupid, how good Cran-Bic is. What a great brew. The same can be said about Apple Ale, StrawBarb, Serendipity, Belgian Red...King of Domestic Fruit beers to me, easily.

Only thing I sometimes dont like is how some really good stuff like the cran-bic and apple ale only come in 4packs and always cost $9.99. I'd happily pay that if they were on scream iipa 9%abv status. Guess when its limited thats the price you pay to land it in the right persons hands.

These have got to be expensive beers to produce. Just think how pricey they'd be is Spotted Cow wasn't such a big seller.

I believe most people would agree that you are way off base on NG Barleywine - it's outstanding!

I just called the brewery and they weren't able to give me any idea when Enigma would be coming back. Maybe if we all petition Dan he'll decide to bring it back sooner...

3.88 rAvg does not imply to me "outstanding." It's good, but compared to the quality I've come to expect in almost every other beer they've made, it just didn't do it for me. Glad you enjoyed it though!

Wait...what? What does ABV have to do with whether it's worth the price?

Usually higher abv beers tend to cost more money so that's what I'd come to expect. Imho because the apple ale and cran-bic are lower abv I think they should cost less like their other beers.

Have a feeling it might be a Thumbprint this winter - sample again and maybe you might enjoy more second time around.

You're not factoring in the price that it costs to maintain those brews while they age as well as the fruit that goes into them. Regardless, it's still an excellent deal. Similar beers from other breweries would probably cost $12-15/4pk.

It's really weird. When I was younger, maybe 7 or 8 years ago, Spotted Cow was all the rage with my friends and I. This was before any of us were big into craft beer. It sort of became a diving board into craft beer, but after trying a lot of others, New Glarus seemed rather average. It was sort of seen as better than domestic but not as good as other craft beer.

I'm not sure if that was ever a popular opinion, or just one that we had for whatever reason, but now New Glarus seems to be taken quite seriously!

I just wanna give a huge shout out to NG, always great beers and the range which Dan can brew is amazing. From the Thumbprint Dubbel to Scream, and those lovely fruit beers. I can't wait to see what else comes from the caves/coolship, and this is coming from a guy 2000 miles away. All around world class operation.

Amazing beers across the board. Very happy that they're only a 30-minute drive from me. Fruit beers, sours, APAs, oddballs... they're all stellar.

Also, I can't believe this thread has gone this far without a single mention of Dancing Man Wheat. One of the best hefeweizens around, though the ABV puts it on the fringes of that style.

Just be glad that NG puts those in 4-packs and not bombers like most other breweries would. Then you'd be paying $12-15 for even less beer. Further proof of NG's awesomeness is that they put their fruit beers in 750ml bottles, not 22oz ripoffs.
