I was wondering the same thing. Probably put 2 kegs serving 1 tap line. 1 filled with beer, 1 with water. Restrict the keg with water so it only adds a fraction of the quantity of beer, so as to keep within ABV variation tolerance, and remain undetectable.

The solution to your problem is to tailgate or pre-load with 2-4 quality beers.
Then that single $11 Stella doesn't hurt so much :grinning:

if you have ever been to Century Link field you would be thankful the beers are a bit watered down...it gets a little out of control...

I work for a distributor and we do provide a lower ABV beer for the concert venues. It's no surprise that sports stadiums do the same as concert venues.

The best venues have craft beer in bottles or cans and pour your glass right in front of you. Wrigley Field had bottles of Goose Island Matilda & Sofie this summer. You could get Bud Light for $8.75 or pay $9 for a Goose - no contest!

There's a reason I go for the pints of Sixpoint or Brooklyn when I'm at Citi Field.

The beer would come from the brewery a lower ABV to begin with. The issue in question is how the beer is being advertised. As I mentioned earlier, the San Diego stadium issue referenced was an issue of them selling 3.2% ABW (4% ABV) Budweiser, while everyone buying the beer assumed it was the normal 5% ABV beer.

For more info on 3.2 beer, check out this previous thread, especially the post by jesskidden about the high gravity brewing process:

Is it specifically 3.2 versions of Bud / Miller / Coors, or other brands as well?

Occam's Razor tells us that the beer is coming out of the keg at those alcohol levels. It is virtually impossible to "water down" beer on that scale post keg and not have issues with the beer being flat, etc. It is also extremely unlikely that the testing was inaccurate.

I recently attended a MN Timberwolves game in a suite. To have a six-pack of Bud Light CANS available in the suite it was $31.50 PLUS tax PLUS an automatic 20% gratuity added.

If I remember correctly they sold beer at the playoff game the next week for a lower price that year.

Better option is to drink before or after the game. Much better selection too considering that while there are beer's I'd pay $9+ for, a 12-16 ounce Budweiser isn't one of them.

You guys have it all wrong. They are just ahead of the curve on the 'ultra-sessionable' beer trend...
