A couple reps at Beechwood and the manager at well known liquor store that shall remain nameless. Good enough for everyone?

If the same stores get the same amounts as last year, I think I may have a shot at Vanilla I learned from this one weird trick.

vanilla is the equivalent of backyard rye this year. it isnt going to be as limited as people thing. especially with 50,000 dollars spent on beans and only 2 lbs per barrel. thats a ton of barrels

Pretty sure (as far as volume goes) that Otto's> Discount>Ray's....just going by # of stores. And @Westuh has worked at Otto's, then Ray's, so I guess he is correct.

The real question which Milwaukee location do I go to in hopes of finding vanilla and barely wine. Any suggestions? If I don't get vanilla that's fine, but really hoping to get some regular and bw.

Anybody know if Woodman's gets anything other than regular?

Both Woodman's in Madison had all of them including Backyard last year. Your best bet is to ask the beer guy at your Woodman's to see what he/she will be getting.

From what I was told, the distributor (in Madison) doesn't want to break up cases this year on the variants. So essentially however many cases the distributor gets, let's say 20, they'll go to the top 20 Goose accounts in the area. Can't imagine woodmans would be left out of that.

Can you explain how this is different than past years? Would they for instance give less than a case, say half/six bottles of the bombers to a location? Do you view this as a good or bad thing?

Kenosha got everything last year, except Prop of course.

They have broken up cases in the past but its a big pain in the ass to spread out 20 cases of 12 22oz bottles over however many accounts from a logistical standpoint. In past years, even some of the better Goose accounts only got a few bottles of cherry rye or bramble. We'll likely be one of the accounts that winds up with a full case of each (hopefully, from what I'm told) so im ok with it. Everyone likes the system that benefits them of course and if we missed out completely I'd probably be a little peeved.

Anyone in Madison have more details on the Woodman's (or any other) releases? I'm not super familiar with the area's beer scene, but will be in town for Black Friday.

I know in Milwaukee no one even gets the beer delivered til mid-day Friday this year (keeping it in the warehouse til Friday morning so no one sells early). Is Madison different? Worth trying to get to a Woodman's at opening time?

Also, FWIW - several bottle shops in Milwaukee are getting Vanilla Rye & BW (just enough for single bottle sales) but no coffee. It appears this is by choice (could've gotten Coffee or Vanilla, not both). Bigger retailers should have both. And there'll be tons of regular to go around everywhere.

I can't speak for Woodman's specifically, but I know of another account in the area that won't be getting theirs until later in the day. I'm guessing it could be the same case there as well.

Riley's is doing a lottery for Beer club members (beer club is just their email list). Signup ends at 10am on Fri. The lottery is for all variants for everything except regular bcbs which will be sold as 4 pks and singles.

Waukesha Woodmans got 22oz bottles of bcvs, limit 1, coffee limit of 2 12oz, 1 4 pack regular, and 2 barleywine. I passed on bw, as im rarely in the mood for them these days. Discount waukesha did not get any variants on the truck only regular.

Any word on Kenosha Woodmans? The Falls isn't getting any until next week.
