I'm in a bit of a conundrum... I currently live in Florida and have never tasted the Hunahpu's Imperial Stout. I know some may be thinking "How is this possible?" especially since I live 20 minutes from CCB. I have attempted to attend the Hunahpu Day multiple times, and have had the worst of luck purchasing tickets/other matters coming up. I'm moving to Columbus Ohio in January before the release of the next batch of Hunahpu in March :slight_frown: I'm reaching out to the BA community to ask of a favor... Would someone be willing to allow me to purchase a bottle from them? I say purchase because as I've mentioned before, I live in Florida and have nothing of value trading-wise. It is possible for me to obtain special release beers from the CCB tasting room (i.e. Winter Warmer), but I have figured, if someone owns a bottle of the elusive Hunahpu, they probably already live in Florida or one of the surrounding states. If someone with a kind heart or multiple bottles could help me out, I would MORE than appreciate it! I do also work for a huge merchandising company for beer and spirits, so if a 'pay/trade' combo would help my chances, I do have access to many different beers! Cheers!

Understood... I guess I'll never find out how good Hunahpu really is. Bummer.

Many people who have Huna came from all over the country to attend Huna Day, not to mention many people around the country traded for bottles right after. You should be able to come up with some limited beers from CCB, Funky Buddha, Cycle Brewing, and soon Bourbon County (especially variants) before you leave FL that you can trade for a Huna. It's not that difficult to trade for one.

Thanks for the reply, man. This years event was a mess as many know, but I'll definitely do my best to gather some things before I ship out!

Columbus is a great city! I don't live there now, but it's awesome. Shitty time to switch climates though. Goodluck.

    1) you'll be able to trade for it, just grab something semi-limited or go over $4$
    2) it's a flavored/spiced stout, so you might not like it all. honestly I didn't even want my whole bottle as the flavors didn't appeal to me

Sent you a BM. If that doesn't work out for you, then just snag some growlers of Columbus Brewing's Bodhi (one of the best IPAs in the country) and that should get you well on your way to a Huna. If it doesn't, BM me in march and I'll hook you up.

Ha, tell me about it! I visited earlier in the year and really enjoyed the downtown area. Plus, being able to have Great Lakes Brewing a few hours away is a plus!

We've had like 8 local Columbus breweries open up this year alone too. Having access to Columbus Bodhi is 1 of the many perks and it will finally be bottled soon since they expanded. There's actually a good amount of Columbus area BAs that went to Hunahpu's Day last year including myself. No one knows what they are going to do next year for the release, but I might be able to get you 1 or at least share 1 with you next year. Too early to tell though.

I saw that CCB was re-releasing Marshal Zhukov. Maybe grab a bottle of that and a sixer of Jai Alai and trade someone from out of state. It's an amazing beer, in my opinion. Much better than Mexican Cake, if you've had that, as the spiciness isn't as aggressive.

Everyone's going to have different opinions on this, but boy was this years Huna absolutely tasty!! GL OP, as I hope you'll get to try it sooner rather than later.

Hit me up when you get to Columbus... I was at Huna day this year and would be happy to do a bottle share with a fellow BA.

For all other responses regarding Columbus, it truly is a great city. Plenty of love for craft beer and a wide range of distribution. A real shame Stone decided to go to VA instead.

Sounds great. Let me know! You won't have CCB (or Tampa's Weather), but you should enjoy it.

Barleys ale house no. 1 was my first micro-brewery back in '93. Also Hoster which is long gone. Great city to live in except all the snow and rain. Lol enjoying my 70 degree winter days in South Texas these days though.
