No work tomorrow because Auto industry Veterans day. Kick back and review.

Sample can gifted from one of my store beer guys. Will be a year round for Mills eventually. Very nice Czech pils! Taste of lemon, pear, cracker, biscuit, light honey, herbal, floral, grass, and light pepper. Fair amount of earthy hop bitterness on the finish. Extremely clean and well balanced flavors with minimal lagery esters present. Very smooth and crisp finish. Very enjoyable and quite impressive actually. I'm surprised how clean it is.

Wow this is so damn awesome. Taste of huge bright grapefruit, tangerine, lemon zest, lime, pineapple, mango, peach, berry, pepper, pine and light caramel/bready malt balance. Nice pine/citrus rind bitterness on the finish. Super bright and juicy citrus/tropical hop character with just enough malt for basic balance really; full force hop flavor. Smooth, crisp, and sticky resinous hop finish. Time to go buy a whole 4 pack. Outstanding. Mosaic and Citra for the damn win.

Nicely funky/sour like last year's release. The original 2012 release was the only one that was not actually funky and a true BA Strong ale. Taste of tart cherry, green apple, red grape, plum, fig, date, red wine vinegar, leather, oak, vanilla, toffee, toast, whiskey, cocoa, molasses, musty funk, hay, straw, light pepper, and oak/yeast earthiness. Lightly tart and earthy/spicy oak/yeasty finish. Very well integrated malt, whiskey barrel, and wild yeast flavors. Very smooth sipping for the ABV. Great balance of sweetness/tartness flavors with no cloying. Very smooth and fairly creamy/acidic finish. I'm a big fan. Great stuff, but I liked lasts years version a lot more.

Not your typical BA beer, but good nonetheless.

... so finally, with Autumn gone, it is time to ring in a new season ... and I truly enjoy the first 3 months of winter every year, really I do, it's just the 4th and 5th months that get to me. Anyway, here's to my own personal winter commencement:

And while I'm at it, this rollicking song about a train caught my ear earlier tonight. Celebrate an old train, celebrate a new season, whatever floats your boat, folks, enjoy:

BA Narwhal. My first BA Sierra Nevada beer, and like pretty much everything else they do, this is truly extraordinary. One of best barrel stouts I've ever had.
