Agreed. @youngac , if I walked to Wedge from downtown I probably wouldn't like it so much either! The beer is decent, though certainly isn't the best in town by any stretch of the imagination, but its a pretty awesome place to just hang out.

yeah , the idea is to drive to the art district, walk around and check out all the cool art spaces, and then hit wedge for a beer.

If you are into art, or cool art type bars, it's a great spot. Beer is solid too. They brew lots of less popular styles, and are a bit more unique then quite a few of the breweries in the area.

Wedge has a local following for sure. But, I'm thinking that area will really take off once New Belgium gets up and running.

 I've seen massive floods in Asheville, that area has never been effected enough to hit where Wedge is located or up the other side where New Belgium will be situated. To get to that elevation, we are talking a Noah type event, with massive amounts of dead. :grimacing:

Another Asheville question: Is there any website or anything that lists the Asheville beer events going on? Something like CharlotteBeer.com or CHSBeer.com does?

I am going up in a few weeks and while I have been to all the breweries before, I never really hear about events going on unless they are a big WW event. Scrolling through 10 different FB pages hunting for happenings isn't high on my list of fun stuff to do.
