Ummm...there just isn't enough emphasis in ISO to describe the need for this!

Indeed. An IPA lover would have been all over it. Double Bastard is great at three years old, my thoughts being a year in a barrel should have done the same work as sitting for three years. It did not. Still, barrel aged Torpedo is definitely an intriguing take on things and I would try it just for the experience.

They're basically dry-hopping it, so I don't think you need to worry about the hops.

SN and Stone are currently in a dead heat for take-all-of-my-money...

I love being back in California.

No, but that's far from a BA IPA.

It's the hoppiest BA beer I've had- not too far off from a BA IIPA if it were in the Devil Dancer tradition.

So I just received an email saying it hits the torpedo room mid next week. Will this also be the same for the Chico brewery?

I've had a couple barrel aged IPAs and I enjoyed them.

Swampheads 10-10-10 in PVW barrels was ass kickin good. They re dry hop most of them so it's still vibrant enough.

I doubt I'll get this. @sierranevadabill ya'll need to release more stuff in the months of April-Sept, when I'm in WNC.

Patience, my friend... by then, we'll have the pilot brewery up-and-running in Mills River so I expect all sorts of goodies that can only be had in WNC. Come by and check us out!

Guy there told me they only had 60 cases with a national total of 170 cases between Chico, NC, and here.

I don't think it's really fair to say something was awful when it was in a style you admit to hating.

$25? How is it possible that this is more expensive than BA Narwahl? I can't justify that price for any IPA.

A rare miss price-wise from SN. Usually they're the best bang for the buck in the beer world.

$25 isn't bad for a 750ml bottle of small batch BBA beer. honestly, they're probably getting very little return on it one way or the other given their size and the extra labor you need to put into barrel aging (effort that could be spent doing things that makes them money hand over fist).

    i'd buy it.

Double Bastard isn't an IPA. And regular DB isn't bad.

Had a growler of this last year when it was a limited release at their Berkeley tasting room...
Best Sierra Nevada Beer I've ever tasted.

Is it worth $20 per bomber? You decide. Great beer though.

    Dear Sierra Nevada,

I saw your post and drooled all over my computer and ruined it.
You owe me a laptop computer. Also, throw in 10 growlers of Torpedo.

    Thanks,
    Matt
