@EvilAsh We were both involved in a local tasting group that wasn't actually too local for the two of us. I sent him a message and we started talking. Within a few days of us talking, he goes to VT and gifts me a 4pk of Heady when he returns, asks for nothing in return. We've since exchanged beer with each other several times, had a few beers together and text each other back and forth about new stuff showing up in our area as well as grabbed stuff for each other when we see it. His beer karma has to be through the roof!

A while ago, someone sent me KBS because I mentioned that I hadn't had it. Unfortunately, I've since lost his handle and address.

I haven't had the pleasure of sharing a beer or two with him ... yet, but I beleive the generosity of @blue-dream is way under the radar!!!

The California contingency of BA seems remarkably under represented in this thread, at least up to this point. (Only 3 posts). So, please allow me to say that the Southern California community (and also Northern to the small extent that I've tasted with people) are extremely generous. There is a very large cross over of tasting groups in SoCal and it seems that everyone is almost always welcome. More importantly, people do not hold back; anything gets opened for the group and generosity is the overwhelming word of the day for just about every tasting I've ever been to or held.

It is not uncommon here in SoCal to hear someone say, "hey, I couldn't get a bottle of that..." or, "I've always wanted to taste that..." upon which someone else will give the person a bottle with a comment like "you can owe me something" or with a comment of "ok...let's open one.."

I've found the Southern California beer community to be amazing and almost generous to a fault!

I recently saw @blue-dream giving away beer hand over fist in a thread. Luckily someone paid him back fairly well it appeared.

I've got far too many people to call out for their incredible generosity they've shared with me and in fear of forgetting someone(s) I'm not going to call any of them out. They know who they are!

Heres a great story, i came home from work, after a real rough day. I knew @zookerman182 was sending me a package, i pull up and see 3 very large boxes. Thinking my wife already started getting x-mas presents early i really paid no attention. I let the dogs out crack a beer and go to the ft door to pull said boxes in…. All the boxes say to Blue-Dream on them????:grimacing::grimacing::grimacing: now not too many people have my address… It seems along with @zookerman182 's 30lbs box that @Mipper and @PA-Michigander both had sent me 25lbs boxes, all filled with my want and tons of stuff i didn't even know about!!!! Then these dirty rats wouldn't even admit they sent the boxes!!! That is true advocacy , so my wife gets home and looks at our island (8 feet long) with 80lbs of beer on it her face was priceless. Some real great people on this site and I'm blessed to call you all my friends. Here's the full shot.

There really needs to be a "multiple likes" button, especially for stories and BA's like these!

Thinking about an after-shock before you get a chance to fight back :grinning: That first bomb was a good one though! So happy you got it safely and are happy with the contents!

I don't like claiming responsibility for things I consider to be a moral imperative but last weekend I gave a Wulver and a KBS away, amongst a cooler filled with almost 4 cases of good beer. Why? Because I wanted these friends of mine to drink good beer. Open their horizons. The Wulver was given to my buddy who is from Scotland. He loved it. I've only drank Wulver once myself, but I had to give it to him.

I have a co-worker I give a beer to 2 or 3 times a week. He used to drink Heineken Light all the time. Not anymore.

I'm of the mind, if you see something you KNOW a friend of yours will like you must get at least one of them. You have to.

@Scoot1969 saw that I was ISO a growler of Kuhnhenn DRIPA then proceeded to message me and offer to send me one out of the kindness of his heart because he had a keg of it on tap at this house! Well, he not only sent me the growler, but filled up a 6 or 8 bottle shipper (can't remember which) with the likes of BCBS, The Bruery Mash, a few Oddside bottles, a snifter and other goodies. Needless to say, I got him back eventually with a nice box of FL beers.

    Thanks again man!

Also, huge shout out to @GF7390

A few weeks back I come home to a surprise box. Had no idea it was coming. Inside? A fresh sixer of OTWOA. No note, no heads up. Nothing. Couldn't really make out the name but I did see a phone number. After texting and asking just about everyone I know I called the number and got Gerry's wife and she explained lol. Very thankful and he will also be getting re-paid. Top notch BA.

Countless other but ones worth mentioning are @kmello69 @mgr78704 @cyde @IrishColonial @AgentMarshall Always the most generous folks and it's a pleasure being ya'lls friend. Plus so many I know without screen names here or are no longer here.

Messaged @surlytwinsfan a question about the trade value of Darkness. @surlytwinsfan immediately responded with an offer of a '14 Darkness........for nothing. He included two extras in the box. I'm compiling a box for compensation and I plan a second box on return from my Boston trip next month, but who gives away Darkness? @surlytwinsfan, thanks again!

As a newbie participating in my first BIF, I drooled over someone's description of Willoughby Peanut Butter, and about a week later a fresh 1/2 gallon growler of it (along with extras including Heady Topper) appeared at my front door courtesy of @kgncfl . And one more vote for @PA-Michigander -- he asked me for someone's address because he was sending them Pizza Boy Sunny Side Up, and when I mentioned how lucky the recipient was he ended up sending me a fresh growler (and matching mug!) as part of a surprise package.
