Hi, I've recently moved to São Paulo. I'm passionate about beer especially belgian beers. I'm a huge lambic fan too. I've brewed professionally in Europe for a few breweries and I did my own Lambic project with Girardin. If anyone is in São Paulo and wants to meet up for a beer let me know.

Just don't let the prices scare you. Cheers.

A pilot friend of mine has been flying the S America routes as of late and I would like to know what beers he can pick up for me that are good tasting? Thanks for any input.

I know this thread is really old, but I also just moved to Sao Paulo. You find anyone in SP for meetups? The beer scene while small, seems to be growing. I have already made trips up to Brew Dog, Emporio dos Alto Pinherios, Cervejaria National(2-3 decent beers), Rock Fella. It has been fun trying a LOT of new breweries...some good and some quite marginal.
If anyone wants to start a meet up or bottle share, let me know. I am heading home for the holidays to Chicago so will have some nice beer treats when I return.

    Hey Brady!

It's always fun to meet people from BA or Untappd in São Paulo. I go to Cervejaria Nacional all the time, as I live in the neighborhood and they have a nice happy hour. We should meet there sometime.
I also work part time at the best bottle shop in town (no kidding!), Almada's Beer Store. There's always bottle share sessions in the store. Had this incredible Leelanau's Petoskey Pale Ale just last night in a bottle share at Almada's, so you should go there too!

I am from SP. Suggestions for draft beer:

Bar Leo - downtown, the oldest bar in town, the draft beer has a nice creamy foamy head. There are better beers, but i still have not found a better pouring style. They have only one tap, from which they pour only foam. The beer that forms from the foam is very light, due to the dilution of the gas.

Bar Original and Bar Piraja - opened their doors in the 90s, inspired by Bar Leo. The ambiance is better, and the food is great.

    Suggestions for bottle beer:

Bar do Luiz Nozoie - great cold beer, and seafood . Very very very simple ambiance, but a very traditional place.

Bar do Luis Fernandes - great cold beer, and great appetizers.

All of these places are simple, but have soul. And i have not added the address, cause they all have websites, just google.
