Hmm...in comparison to the other rye's I've had (Cherry and Backyard) I would say its my favorite, but not better than Vanilla. Proprietor's was so unbelievably good it pretty much ruined my perception of any other beer I tasted that night.

I don't think people are necessarily saying they're not up to snuff. Vanilla is quite good, and if you read what BearDown said, he likes the new Prop more than ever. The price hike is tough, but they did just expand their program quite a bit, and that's not free.

I haven't had the latest prop nor standard 2014 (only had 2014 on nitro), so I'm reserving judgement until Black Friday.

We don't cover LA so unsure. If a place carries the year round offerings from goose, there's a good chance they could be getting at least reg bourbon county. Von's and pavilions will be receiving it, at least in oc they're allocated but I don't see la not being included in a corporate allocation. In the IE there will be bourbon county ice cream floats Friday though

GI sells in San Diego. Best bet is to check out BevMo as early as possible... I heard there were lines in the Mission Valley BevMo stores last year...

I talked to a BevMo rep that confirmed their stores are getting it in the SFV/LA (CA) area. Due to last years snafu with releasing early, he said a few locations (including his) are only getting a few cases.

It's definitely still up to snuff, just a bit more mellow which some may like.

They will definitely have them at all Bevmo's, I struck out last year because I got lazy and showed up to Bevmo at 12pm but apparently someone got the last of it 10 min before me so if they are ramping up production and you show up to Bevmo at open you should be good.

If a place even gets it, it's only one case. They usually then only do singles.

So it's my first time picking up some BCBS this Black Friday. any fellow SOVA BA's know if I need to get in line a few hours before the doors open? No clue how many people do the Black Friday style camping for beer.
