BC rare vs DB Mexican cake

Oh, I mean it gets done. Fou is probably the most consistently valued beer on the market so it's a good benchmark. I just have a hard time trading one offs for yearly releases where a lot of them are produced. And having had both, they are probably about the same as far as taste, with DB cake having a slight lead.

As for Prop, I enjoyed it, but I have no idea why it trades 1:1 with db cake. But both of those are really just personal preferences.

 

sure. personally I didn't like Prop (didn't like the coconut) and don't like spicy beers so have never sought out Cake - so I want no part of any deal

 

You might like db cake then. I had a bottle on Saturday and there wasn't any pepper to be found. Just a little barrel, cinnamon and chocolate, Big disappointment. I'd think prop would be 1:1. I'd do that trade if i had another db cake.

 

Would DB Cake and Trickery land DB Huna? Would DB Cake + Fou get a DB Huna or would that be overkill?

 

DB cake + Fou is solid. But there are fewer and fewer of the db's that the trade value goes up almost daily. I think you would have a pretty good shot at it; if not maybe a small plus would help push people over the edge. If I didn't have all three already I would be interested.

 

I can tell you I offered a tequila cake+++ and got crickets multiple times. And the +'s were (BBBM, Black note, BBPT5 and bcbcs). So it will take quite a bit more. I think the issue is people who have a Rare probably also have other good enough bottles to land any one of the Cakes w/out having to give up a Rare for them.
