Yes, it's true! We have brought back Hudepohl, Burger and Little Kings. We have also added a full line of Hudepohl seasonal beers that are brewed right here in Cincinnati and have become fairly popular, give them a try!

My Grandpa came over to help me fix my furnace and install a B-ball goal for the kids. He brought over a coupla six packs. White cans that said "BEER". Long, long time ago. We drank 'em, shot the shit and I never got to see him again.

Meister Brau. After breakfast he'd grab 6 Chicago newspapers and a big bottle of Meister Brau. He'd read and drink that beer all morning. Interesting man. Wish I'd been able to introduce him to craft beer. I think he would have loved it.

I do not recall ever seeing my Grandfather drink a beer, but he made some killer wine.

What a great thread! Like many on here, both my GFs were more about hard liquor than beer -- My Dads's dad drank Irish Whiskey (our name is Powers and he drank Power's -- not sure if that's why or not, lol) and my mom's Dad drank scotch. My Dad's dad (born in Ireland) did drink a good pint o' Guinness, though, once in a while. My dad drank Stroh's --- uuggh. lol.

My grandpa drank Scotch, no beer, he was a working class hero to me.

One drank Old Style Pilsner from Canada...think it's still around? But, mostly Rum or Whiskey
One drank Christian "Schmidt's" of Philadelphia/Cleveland and an an occasional Scotch..."On the Rocks".

I think they stopped selling it a year or so ago. Used to be available in NJ and all over PA. Probably was some reboot, not the original all over Shea Stadium! It was out of Connecticut, and had a listing here at one time ??

As I remember it, my Grandpa on Mom's side drank more Olympia than anything else. He would always save the bottle caps for me because I liked to collect them. Every now and then he'd let me have a swig from one of those old Oly stubbies he always had nearby when he did yard work (along with his pungent Parodi cigars).

Grandpa died long before I reached legal drinking age. I think he would have been pleased when I started homebrewing. Every time I brew, I can almost imagine him smiling because I'm making my own beer, and frowning because my equipment and process wouldn't meet his exacting standards. (He was a toolmaker/machinist, and had a deep love for things that worked.)
