Following this thread loosely as I picked up a bottle of Oak Aged Yeti last week at the Great Divide tap house in Denver (bottled Nov '11)

Happy to say I am supping it now and it is sublime !!!

No idea what the bottle # was, but one was popped at a tasting this afternoon. Infected. Not undrinkable, but not good, especially compared to the divinity that good BA Yeti is. I'm pessimistic for my bottle.

This was before I met you. Invite a time machine. Then you can come.

    Cheers!

Although I think brewers have a very good grasp of the importance of product quality controls, I suspect that in the transition from the garage to the warehouse, QC gets exponentially more complex and some brewers are prioritizing future expansion and loan repayments over hiring chemists and QC experts. Not to mention customer care specialists.

Theory #2 - Brewing is half voodoo and good witch doctors are hard to find

This was before I met a time machine. Invent a time machine and then I would invite it.

    According to spaceballs in 1987.....

Dark Helmet: What the hell am I looking at? When does this happen in the movie?
Colonel Sandurz: You're looking at now, sir. Everything that happens now is happening now.
Dark Helmet: What happened to then?
    Colonel Sandurz: We passed then.
    Dark Helmet: When?
Colonel Sandurz: Just now. We're at now now.
Dark Helmet: Go back to then.
    Colonel Sandurz: When?
    Dark Helmet: Now!
    Colonel Sandurz: Now?
    Dark Helmet: Now!
    Colonel Sandurz: I can't.
    Dark Helmet: Why?
    Colonel Sandurz: We missed it.
    Dark Helmet: When?
    Colonel Sandurz: Just now.
Dark Helmet: When will then be now?
    Colonel Sandurz: Soon.

    Cheers!

We're only talking about Barrel Aged yeti which is different than Oak Aged.

    Opened 2 bottles today.

#1833 was first. I figured this one would be infected based on the number. It was.

    #3054 seems okay

I had bottle #3204 today and it was fantastic. Do we have enough bottle numbers to cross triangulate the calculus equation it will take to mathematically figure out which bottles are infected?

Because people are interested in an expensive, world-class stout that might be infected. If it bothers you, it takes roughly .4 seconds to slide your eyes on to the next topic.

    Piss off.
    'Interested' I could understand. Discuss.
This has turned into a circle jerk for everyone to weigh in with what Bottle # they own or owned until recently, and whether it was or was not infected. That's shit that the brewery might be very interested, but after 345 replies it becomes rather tedious.
Pattern established. Result: the bottle you have may be infected, may not be infected, may now be tainted by your expectation of infection, or may make you re-evaluate just what you think 'infected' means in the greater sceme of things.
    Move on.

It's spelled "scheme." Does that make this thread relevant enough for you now? Now you actually learned something from it.
