I'm surprised there hasn't been a thread in the Beer Releases forum about this yet.

Our beloved Velvet Merlin aged with cocoa nibs and Intelligentsia Espresso Beans.

All of the smooth textures and roasty dark chocolate goodness of our seasonal Velvet Merlin Oatmeal Stout with the added infusion of Intelligentsia Coffee House aromas and cocoa dusted chocolate truffle flavors.

This brew makes debut in our 2014 Winter Bundle pack - the only way to find this elusive collaboration.

This is the equivalent of your mom letting you go see a movie but you have to take your little brother with you.

I'd prefer to see it in a single bomber alone, but I understand them trying to move some other product along with this one. Even the worst FW is pretty good.

Been tempted to drop $15.99 on this 4-pack at Trader Joe's several times. Great deal, right? But then I just think... for a couple bucks more I could buy another Firestone 18 or a Speedway or this or that or.... I will probably end up skipping this one although I would love to try it.

Sure wish we got it at our Trader Joe's. This looks pretty rock solid.

They should replace the DBA with a Double Jack.

I found a liquor store that’s opening the boxes and selling the mocha individually. Hallelujah!

People on this site have the strangest reactions to good beers that they've had before.
It's like FW is inflicting punishment on you in order to obtain the Mocha Merlin you must drink one of the best English PA's, one of the best IPA's and one of the best Black IPA's in the world, and that is bothersome to many here?

Yeah... Maltose Falcons definitely is not in this four-pack, so...

If you are buying the sampler just for this beer, you may be disappointed. It smells really good but the rest of it is pretty forgettable. Just not much going on...it's very thin, no real roastiness, and too crisp for a stout in my opinion. It's not awful, I just found it kind of bland.

I know, but I'm not really that fond of the beers in the box.

Valid point, and I nearly made mention of that in my first reply. I enjoy all the other beers in this box, and purchase them all at varying degrees of frequency. It's not an indictment on the others beers in this box. I just don't want to drop the $16 when my primary reason is to try a slight variation on the Velvet Merlin, whose standard version already resides in plurality in my fridge.

Good stuff. Not too happy having to buy 3 other beers to get it though.
