Also beware of the Bourbon County curse..

In the last two years I have watched a few local folks score entire cases of the stout and the barley wine with a few bottles of variants then post a pic in the haul thread.

    And the curse is?

6 months later they either stop drinking beer or fall off from beer advocate, never to post again.

Not sure why could be a lot of different reasons but I am just telling it like it is because I have watched it happen before.

While this may be true, several places do not get the same releases as the foodery does. As someone without a car, the foodery is among the easier places to get to.

I'm new to the main line area (Malvern) as of this past year. I will be out of town until at least Saturday afternoon.... are there any places I would still be able to score a case from by that time?

Does anyone know the deal about what is going down on Wednesday at 40th and Walnut? That is what is on the GI website, but it only lists the corner, not any bar or store. The most likely bar would be City Tap House, but they have nothing listed on their website.

a case? Most of places people are talking about are bottle shops selling with a limit of of a 4-pack or single bottle. I suppose some of the beer distributors will have full cases, but they've got to be limited. And probably only of BCBS, not the variations.

Unless you've managed to get an in with a case distributor and already it set aside you would have to be really lucky to stroll into a place on Saturday and score a case.

Yeah, a case is not gonna happen, except MAYBE for regular BCBS. I'd email around now.

Regular BCBS and possibly barleywine bottles will still be available some places on Saturday, but coffee and vanilla will be long gone.

I live in South Jersey but I'm wondering if it's worth heading into PA to try to score some Bourbon County next Friday. My local stores in South Jersey said they're getting it in, but then don't know when... before Thanksgiving, Black Friday, or the following week. I'd hate to miss it.

I called the Beeryard in Wayne last week, and they said to email them my request for a case of regular. Never heard anything back from them.

All I'm hoping for is some regular.

I emailed them too - heard back and he said they're not getting very much, and he already has a list of regulars, and I won't get any.

    From Goose Island events page:

    NOVEMBER 26
    Philadelphia - BCBS Wednesday Event
Corner of S. 40th St & Walnut St, Philadelphia, Pa 19104

Anyone know any details on this?

So, the official goose island page has a release at 9AM on Black Friday basically at Foodery Roxborough. But the twitter says 8AM. I'm guessing 8AM is more correct but is there confirmation on that? Thanks.

Wouldn't the Twitter be the confirm on that? At this point I think we can trust to not trust the Goose site(Vanilla Rye 4 pks).

P.S. - Do not go to Foodery Roxbourough... :stuck_out_tongue:

And when should I show up to ensure that I'll get all four of the Bourbon County line? I was thinking like 4am for the Foodery location at Roxsborough.

Just FYI they likely have had 100+ calls/emails for Bourbon County...it's one of the most popular craft distributors (case stores) in the area.

Good. Haha. I was overshooting my estimate. Perhaps I'll try 6am. 2 hours shouldn't be too bad waiting.
