Most LCs now seem to have in Unibroue's 17 Grande Reserve, which I loved ($8.79 is a STEAL for a beer this nice... Rochefort 10 has been sighted at Osborne & Dakota at (IIRC) $4.74. The Osborne location also has a few specials lying around. A special order for a dinner got returned and they have the following beers in stock. For the record, the prices seem outrageous. Paddock Wood London Porter - 341 mL - $4.06 Paddock Wood Black Cat Lager - 341 mL - $4.06 Paddock Wood Barrel Full of Monkeys (10% RIS BA) - 341 mL - $11.24 (???) Alley Kat Saison D'Être - 660 mL - ~$8 Alley Kat Aprikat - 6 x 341 mL - ~$22 Bought one of each of the singles. Wanted more than that for the Monkeys, but couldn't rationalize that price point :-/ Sask BAs, was it even close to that pricey out there?
Just so you know these breweries through Artisan Ales registering with your board and pulled through Alberta you can now order Dieu du Ciel,Tilquin,De Ranke, La Rulles, Theriez,Brasseurs Sans Gluten maybe Charlevoix, Les Trois Mousquetaires and Le Trou du Diable (when we have stock). We haven't even transferred our first cases yet and the paperwork was just done last week.
I've been special ordering DDC from Alberta for a while now... Does this mean it won't take them a month+ to do a transfer for these beers now?
Just to clarify Hoser's statement for the MB folks: You have been able to special order wine, spirits and beer from Connect (the Alberta central warehouse) for many years. Many representatives and breweries products are available in this manner. As Ted mentioned, it does take some time, depending on where you catch the MLCC in their order schedule. If it is available in Alberta, chances are you can have a case brought into Manitoba for yourself. Hence the availability of the leftovers for the cancelled beer event. Those only took about three weeks to get here, but the guys putting on their beer festival at the Winter Club only sold 15 tickets, even though all the beers were from out of province and not normally available. Ken, I've got a bottle each of the 1000 monkeys and the barrel full of monkey's that we could crack sometime. On tap at Beer Bros in Regina, the 1000 Monkeys was very good. We'll see how it plays out in the bottle. Maybe it's time we considered a buying group so Ted doesn't have to bear the brunt of his buying habit alone... I'm in for some Drei Fontenin if anyone's interested!
I'd be up for some 3F as well. The first shipment should be getting pretty close to AB by now I believe. Dave, are you on the facebook 'Craft Beer Drinkers (Winnipeg)' group? I find it's one of the the few redeeming features of facebook, especially since Ken usually gives us up to the hour updates on MLC arrivals! (Thanks Ken!)
As DDC's agent I have never done the paperwork for your province as it was a case here and there and never really had the stock. Now with the most recent brewery expansion we are able to maintain stock better so able to fulfil more board to board transfers to the SLGA,BCLD and of course the MLCC. As to the Drie Fountain although I am not the agent I have heard from a number of sources the amounts are tiny and very expensive. Look at RB's Western Canadian thread our agency has crazy stuff coming in. Now the paperwork is done for our agency it is all available to your province. Thanks Rudge for clarifying.
