Still no word on a date? Is this going to be one of those Wednesday announcements where they release it the following Saturday?

It will, because I will be there and I want this beer! Maybe I can talk someone into staying sober enough in the day before the Jam to drive us down to Hickory and back to Asheville before the music starts.

 

I cant imagine going to the release EARLY Saturday morning and then having to play through the entire day/jam.

 

Your right. I am way too damn old for that now. I did the 20th Jam and we did both nights/days. That was the beginning of my realization that I was not as young as I used to be. I had to take the next Monday off just to recuperate, that was part of a three day malaise following the Jam that I could not shake.

 

I know theyve got one keg of Cuvee de Reinke (and the last one left, well depending how long I hold mine at work) saved for that.

 

I know he is going to have quite a few special beers on tap for that day, including another keg of Bardstown. Definitely am excited for this release.

 

Really pumped for this beer. Hope we get a little notice on this release so I can plan accordingly to get off work and what not.

 

Where do you here this? From the brewer himself? OHB is one of my favorite NC breweries, but they have terrible social media presence. They never post new beers or special one offs on their website nor twitter. I guess they don't want too much hype, their beers do speak for them self. But, I do wish they would a better job of updating things, especially for those of us who don't live in Hickory.

 

I happen to have friends close to the brewery. Also, I do the ordering for a local store which gives me insight with things like this.

Rumor mill now is churning out that the release has been pushed back to January...we'll see

 

Any new updates regarding the release of this? Also, didn't see a thread for the '14 Event Horizon but anybody know when that will get released? Thanks in advance and cheers!

 

Last I heard, Omega Point has been pushed back to January, and from what I understand, EH should be released within the next couple of weeks. I think their new bottle format and their new label change has caused a hiccup as of late with the release of their beers. Hopefully should be seeing EH in the next few weeks though. I know its not much help, but hopefully someone has a little more concrete info...

Unless I'm reading this wrong it looks like they're talking about Event Horizon, not Omega Point. EH was everywhere in large quantities last year. OP is supposedly a brewery-only release, so I doubt bottle shops will be getting it.

 

I'll see if I can find anything out next week, if we haven't already found out on here
