OK -- so is there an easy way to post pictures for the VBS (or in my case at the moment, a VCS)? I have the picture on my phone and uploaded to untappd, do I need to go through the whole photobucket dealie to post here? Cuz I am not sure it's worth the effort... although I just figured out that I can link to my untappd picture (duh!)

And does the BA App let me do this too? Thanks! (I'm an engineer, but an old one).

I think they are for sale for the 'in crowd' at a hefty price. I don't think I'm there yet because I don't feel comfortable asking if they have any Pliny in the back storage room.

I need to bring a telephoto lens, you need to see his collection.

Something about a 15% DFH Old School and it convincing me to not take a picture for the VBS... Was quite tasty though, tastier than I really expected given my rather lengthy experience with DFH (which admittedly does not include WWS).

If there's a way to post a picture from the app, I haven't figured it out. Quite underwhelmed with the BA app thus far. My typical chain is:
    - Take a picture with phone
    - Upload to photobucket from app on phone
    - Go to photobucket on laptop and get the link to the picture
    - Post the link here

It's 4 steps, but it only takes 30-45 seconds or so typically.

I've started uploading to Photobucket from my phone, then checking into Untappd from my computer, using the same link from photobucket for Untappd as I do for here. It at least mitigates the effort required for photobucket since I'm getting double use out of it.
You can do a photo in the app, just type "[ image] photobucket link [/image ]" (sans spaces inside brackets), but unless you won't have easy access to your computer for a while, why bother?

I'm reading between the lines that this photo was taken of a spot customers can't really access? This diminishes, but does not eliminate, my point about "why have it in your shop?" Though the first part of your point makes sense as well, but I still think it's just showing off, your "in" customers could just be aware that asking for "the good stuff" would yield positive results, without having it "on display" even just as a peek.

OK thanks -- I actually did: take picture with phone - upload to untappd - copy untappd link here -- that saved te photobucket step (since I was posting on untappd anyway), but but you can't enlarge the picture. I was trying to save going back and forth from phone to laptop if at all possible. I WILL install the photobucket app though.

I've never really uploaded to untappd very often, but maybe I should. I usually have my laptop nearby and if I don't my phone does just fine with websites, so copying the link from photobucket isn't hard. Will have to try the method @Lehighace06 suggested. It's been a while since I've had to actually use UBB code instead of just clicking on a button

What did you think of Olde School? I have a bottle I've been sitting on (bottled october 2013 IIRC) that I'm thinking of cracking soon. I also have a WWS going on a year old in about a month.

EDIT also saw some Old Stock above, a buddy of mine is bringing 2013 and 2014 to a convention in January, at which I'm hosting a bottle share in my hotel room one of the afternoons... might try to convince him to bring those instead of consuming them in his room in private lol

If you come to Capone's on Black Friday you'll have the chance to buy WWS anywhere from fresh to i wanna say 6 or 7 years old is on the shelf. (I have a 2004 I bought there, but that's not just 'available')

I'm going wherever Josh drags me, but my budget is pretty much "BCBS shopping only", as I have a specific amount I'm looking to get (I don't plan on being able to get all of it -- 4pk of each variant available in 4pks, vanilla if I'm lucky and the others don't break the bank, but I've been seeing that prices have gone way up compared to what I thought it'd be, so doubt it haha)

I'm expecting $30-32/4pk around us for stout and barleywine. You won't get a 4pk of coffee. If you get to two places before they sell out, you might luck into 2 bottles of coffee, bought individually, for $10/ea. Vanilla will also be in the $30 range.

So if you get to two places in time to get your allotment, with a 50% success rate on Vanilla, you'll walk away with 2 4pk of regular, 2 4pk of barleywine, 2 coffee, and 1 vanilla, you'll have spent $170. Being able to buy that much is likely, more is not. If you cut yourself off at 1 4pk max, you'll spend $110 and get 4 regular, 4 bw, 2 coffee, 1 vanilla.

*this is my guess on pricing in PA, I'm aware of the MSRP and have adjusted accordingly because PA sucks.

Yeah that's what I'm looking at -- not trying to get 2 4 packs of anything in particular haha

and yeah prices here blow, I was originally planning to just hop around places in Maryland (considering I can get to a few locations relatively quickly from my place, but have no clue what allotments will look like), but Josh seems to have other plans lol

I mean, I'm not saying to skip hanging out with Josh, but you'd save some money in MD for sure. Maybe ask around here for some allotment advice. I figured you had a bead on pricing, but I also wanted to point out that places just don't have vanilla and if they have coffee they're not selling 4pks. The ones that do have those, have so little, 50/50 success rate is probably generous for vanilla and probably coffee too, unless you're in line hours early.

Well I also just read that, allegedly, some shops in the area I was going to hit are already selling it (at $28/4), BCBS and BCBB only, apparently MD isn't getting any vanilla or coffee. Unsure how true that is, but looks like I'm staying in state lol

Some people really love DFH and all the weird stuff they do (my wife being one of them), some don't. I generally steer clear of stuff by them unless I can try it first (there's normally someone in the store with pretty much any new bottle open at some point while I'm there... really do enjoy the beer laws in NC) or know that I like it (90 minute, Burton Baton). In this case a guy that I generally agree with fairly closely on beer (the only exception being Backwoods Bastard...) suggested for me to try it and at $4/bottle it didn't take a lot of persuading.

Overall, it was still fairly hot and needs to tone down a little bit. I figure a year in bottle will certainly provide that (I purchased an extra bottle to age as well). Once past the hotness, the flavor was right what you'd expect from a not-over-the-top-hoppy American Barleywine with a sold malt forward character. I was pleasantly surprised by the beer. Overall a 4/4.25 or so for me.

Maaaan, $4 a bottle? I paid... I think $10 for it around here? It might have even been 12? The place I got it is generally overpriced, but sheesh, didn't think they were THAT bad

    Old Stock or Old School?

DFH Old School is one of my favorites. It varies by year, was this years fruit forward? 2012 was, and it was fantastic.
