Anyone know when Vanilla will hit NY? I know Backyard came late (tee-hee) last year, and I heard that was only because of the government shutdown delaying label approval...it would be nice if everything could just show up at once.

We got lots of backyard last year. I was completely shocked to hear no vanilla for us this year? Anyone hear if charlotte or north Augusta will get vanilla?

Sounds like North Jersey is getting it on time. Central/South Jersey stores have not heard (I talked to a few different places) and believe they should hear today if they will have it for Friday.

Got the stout yesterday in south jersey. I just asked the clerk and they just got it in that morning. Just 1 case.

Any chance you want to tell us where including the store since you already got yours?

What is up with all the pre-Black Friday releases? I know it happens every year, but does the brewery or distributors want this to happen or care to stop it? or its the Black Friday a suggested release date and retailers can do as they please. just asking as it seems to be Black Friday in my neck of the woods only

The brewery doesn't want it to happen (direct from a GI rep's mouth to my ears), but there is no way they can prevent it other than the threat of pulling future allocations of Bourbon County, which essentially means that the distributors/retailers can do what they want. I have no idea how much effort GI realistically puts into this tactic.

Unless I have missed it I haven't seen any info on what the Bombers of the Vanilla Rye have been priced at/are selling for? Any Help on this would be great.
    Thanks

No way they can prevent it? Really?

The day KBS was released - a specific date that people knew in advance - people were following the truck so they could stock up as soon as the store got it. I never heard of anyone near me releasing it early, because they didn't even have it. Why couldn't InBev do the same?

Depends on whether the stores you shop at participate in the suggested price-hike. If yes, $25-27; if no $19-23.

Well, I meant they can't really force the distributors/retailers to do anything. But yeah, I suppose if they managed to figure out a way to sync up delivery schedules across a 42 state distribution footprint the day after Thanksgiving, yeah, they could prevent it. It just doesn't seem like that's a realistic logistical approach, given that they are the first arm of a three-armed supply chain. They have to get it to the distributors *before* Black Friday to allow the distributors to get it to the retailers on Black Friday. The only question is just how early they get it to the distributors.

So what states ARE getting Vanilla Rye then? Is that a more valid question as this point?

Anybody hear anything on Delaware? Every store I've talked to has been clueless.

Tim, PM/message me and I'll tell you. Like I said, 1cs, so may be gone.

There is no way of stopping retailers from selling. Most of these stores get their deliveries throughout the week. With the holiday, they all should have it by today for Fridays release. If you ask a pt clerk for it that doesn't know what it is, they almost always will look it up and find it in their stock room.

My local in SoCal said they are getting Vanilla later this week. They put stout on sale yesterday and sold out w/in the hour.

$28 for BW 4pk seem high this year?

All variants for Texas. Last year it was all over Houston, hoping for the same this year!

Bunch of lucky bastards. We'll be lucky to get a few stray bottles of regular.

What did they "amp up"? Seems like every state is getting less this year and some are not getting any at all, especially Vanilla Rye. That's after their expansion. Goose Island is now known as InBev Island.

Definitely some gems in that state. Last December I stopped into the party store in my fiance's hometown in WI. I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw Backyard in the cooler. The employee seemed shocked when I asked if there was a limit. I only bought 2, and it was the worst beer decision I've made in a while. This year they'll only have BCBS, and I have to buy a 4 pack of The Muddy to get it. They've figured it out.
