"A long time ago (well, 2004) in a Pizza Port not so far away (Solana Beach, CA), Tomme Arthur and New Belgium’s Peter Bouckaert brewed an all Brettanomyces beer they called Mo’ Betta Bretta. The two recently joined forces once again — this time at The Lost Abbey — to do a refresh of that beer. Here’s a quick look at the 2012 Mo’ Betta Bretta releasing early this summer." http://www.lostabbey.com/vodcast-11-the-lost-abbey-propaganda/
Any word on when this will be distributed? Will it be part of the Lips of Faith Series or will it be C&C specialty?
Ryan, based on this thread it sounds like it's part of the Lips of Faith series. Hopefully it makes it up here to Seattle. http://beeradvocate.com/community/t...giums-lips-of-faith-series.14875/#post-209533
Just tasted this beer from the bottle last night. I was very excited about this release, especially since Lost Abbey isn't distributed in Oregon. Never have I been so disappointed! Nothing like I expected or hoped. I simply cannot believe these two breweries would release this beer the way it is. The price was cheap tho, around $7, so it might be worth it to buy a bottle and cellar it for a good amount of time to see what happens. I know I sound negative, but I just can't get over how bad it was! I can't wait to see some of your opinions.
I just had a pint at lost abbey. I definately expected alot more from this beer. Oh well, win some and lose some. Cheers.
Hitting shelves this week according to this. For some reason I thought this would be in a Lips of Faith bomber, not a Lost Abbey C&C 375. I'll probably pick one up, especially if it's priced reasonably.
They are both doing releases. The only difference I have heard of is NB version is pasteurized while LA's version isn't. (insert carbonation joke)
Will they have the same name? Couldn't find anything on the NB website. I'll get one of each and compare, kind of like the Deschutes/Boulevard collaboration beers (which were very different, I preferred Boulevard).
I heard this rumor from a friend who went to the release at LA, but it may just be that...a rumor. However, from the release info the bros posted it should be available in Bombers, which would be a NB release. "Tart Lychee" & "The Lost Abbey Collaboration" Selected for New Belgium's Lips of Faith Series
Yep, actually that thread is what put the idea in my head to be watching for a Lips of Faith bottle. I guess we'll have to wait & see.
Isn't it the NB Lips of Faith Brett Beer? It says that it's a NB & Lost Abbey Collaboration. That beer is already out, at least here in CO.
Yes, it's probably this one. I haven't seen it here in Seattle yet. Or the Lost Abbey one. Or Ruination 10th, for that matter...
there we go. I thought I had seen it before but I couldn't find it listed earlier, I must have overlooked it, thanks. Still haven't seen it in SD yet
