Or store employees hoard 90% of the KBS and give each person one bottle after stating one 4 pack per person. Cough cough. upper arlington whole foods cough cough .I'll never forget the look on the first guy in lines face if looks could kill they all would have exploded. But back on topic be lucky states that get this amazing brew you could be stuck in the stone.age abv law times still like the great state of Ohio

Early deliveries with a set release date has been (from my observation) the only remedy to truck chasing...

Not as many as you might think. AtG in Louisville makes Bo & Luke, which is very good, and MadTree in Cincinnati (which is a lot closer to me than Louisville) makes a draft/growler-only imperial stout called Axis Mundi. The barrel-aged version of that (also draft/growler only for now) is superb. Beyond that, the primary barrel-aged beers are of the "Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale" variety from Alltech. These beers are quite polarizing - you either love 'em or hate 'em (I hate 'em).

I'm pretty sure Kentucky is getting hosed due to the ongoing lawsuit between InBev and the state of KY.

Either way, it sucks but whatever. Just gotta deal with it.

The largest liquor store in the country (The Party Source) in Northern KY got less than 10 cases TOTAL. 6-7 BCBS and 2 BCBBW.

My understanding last year was that BW was wholly aged in stout barrels. I could have been mistaken though.

That's not a bad point but it would have been 100x better if they had made it any other day besides black friday. As it is now, I hate it. As others have pointed out, lots of people travel (really, LOTS of people travel) for thanksgiving and aren't anywhere near their local store or market. Plus you have to deal with all the traffic and bullshit of BF, and just the nauseating feeling that you're participating in one of the worst examples of modern American consumerist culture.

That would make me re-interested in the Barley Wine, if it was the 70/30 split this year.

I thought the Barley Wine, though good, was FAR too similar to Regular Bourbon County and was therefore a huge let-down. However I was looking at it as a little brother to King Henry which maybe the best beer I've ever had. (I'm a Barley Wine fanatic.)

Really? I loved the barleywine and im not huge on them. It was so incredibly smooth and had some nice sweet notes to it.

I agree on this, any other day would probably make more sense. Maybe the logic is that many people are already off of work but it certainly cuts into plans that many people make. I works for me personally but I could see the frustration for travelers or those that have to work/etc.

Just picked up a four-pack in Denver. Happy I don't have to leave the house Friday!
