The regular is better than the coffee in my opinion. I really want the Vanilla Rye though. The clamoring is due to the fact that I can still pick up BCBS from 2013 right now, so worrying about it is not really necessary. Variants though will be here and gone in a moment.

Heard some rumors that MA got very little of the coffee this time around. not sure of the truth to it but found it interesting reading this thread seems to be the least seen variant out there

For the record, they put out the barleywine last year, and it rocks.

What time is Kappy's Medford releasing/selling it? They open at 8am but Goose Island event says 9am.... Confused.

Talked to a local shop owner. He said his shipment won't come in until Monday or Tuesday. Said he had to buy around 30 cases of Goose Island to get it.

There's no code a secrecy, is there? This is BA!! Lots of "the shop I go to" or "I know of two places..." on here.

So is there really some second run in March-ish?

My memory is unreliable due to years of drinking and other adventures but a second run of plain old bcbs in march-ish, tracks. No additional variants released. I'm the wrong guy to ask about that anyway. Another fun fact, i have a friend who works at a Bud Warehouse in California, he says they still have kegs of 13 bcbs there. Again, this tracks with the notion that regular BCBS is not limited in the slightest. But they do extort your shops to buy it/variants.

I was also told by two different stores today in Western MA that the regular stout got recalled due to issues with packaging. Saw it for $26/4-pack and passed on it. Perhaps will buy it if it does get swapped out. A lot of the Barleywine hanging around but I passed on that, just not that into it. Was also told by a store they would see the Coffee/Vanilla Friday only to have them sell it all in the last two days! Bad luck for me this time around. Whatever, I got 7 beers for less than the price of one four pack instead. Something about condensation, bad seals and mold but no one was totally sure what happened, it seemed.

I know it was discussed earlier in this thread but has it been announced where the release event will be this evening? I would assume its just a tap list which is great. Also do you guys think all kappys will have them or just the one location? I'm visiting Boston for the holiday so not super knowledgeable on everything. Message me if that's easier. Thank you!

hrmm, selling out 20 minutes without putting any word out - on a weekday when people aren't looking yet in this area - reeks of employees just buying them

yeah, I got the email from Downtown Wines & Spirits around noon, and in the 20 minutes it took to get from my office in Central to Davis, they sold out of the Vanilla Rye. nabbed a 4pk of the Barleywine, just now noticing that one of the bottles has a small dent in it...

Just walked into Wine Emporium and they had a bunch of cases of regular and barleywine labeled as "pre-Black Friday sale", didn't see any variants (if they have any probably holding till Friday). Not sure if other stores in the city are doing the same.
