Not exactly, the store has to buy x number of cases of BCBS to get a case of Coffee. The store in question was just passing that burden along to the consumer. I've personally never been to a place that made the customer buy BCBS like that.

 

Dive Bar's event tonight (taps at 7, I hear) is all draught. They don't sell bottles to go there.

 

I've seen it before--but in reality we are lucky that it was BCBS that had to be bought and not 312 or something like that....

 

You guys know that posting all this stuff here makes it like 100x harder for you all to find it right? And helps to make these bars into mob scenes. Before you say "its for the community" it should be noted that hundreds, if not thousands of people read this board anonymously and aren't even registered on the site. Just saying.

 

Got it - my point was just that outside of One Mile House and Dive Bar, I thought nobody else should be selling it (in any form) prior to Friday

While posting it here may make it tougher on us - it is also how I found out most of the information that even makes me able to want this beer. So I will take the good with the bad on this one and just plan accordingly to get my share.

 

Chances are, most people who are into the craft beer like "us", already have our local spots we go to. Most, if not all events are posted on a bars website or social media. This info is there with out much effort. These forums MIGHT give the casual on looker SOME info but probably wont cause as much damage as you might think. Its not like the existence of these rare releases is known by word of mouth only. Its all out in the public. Its now on the brewery to provide more product for the growing demand (or not). Either way i dont think any one should be discouraged from sharing info, esp if its already public knowledge.

This is the last thing I'll say on it because I really don't want to start a debate but take a look at the post count to views ratio on not only this thread, but the BCBS Maryland one as well. The latter is 170 to TEN THOUSAND.

 

any BC event in NYC is a royal shitshow. Not that this thread is helping, but it can't make it much worse. I'd rather support the spirit of sharing beer info, even if it means upping the shitshow factor by 3.7% or whatever.

 

The real question is when are people going to start lining up friday morning.

At one mile house now..not too crowded..2013 bcbs on tap
Bottles are being sold for 2014...other 2013 and 2014 taps at 5 pm
Had the vanilla rye bomber ($35) and 2014 coffee. .both are top notch!

 

6 PM tomorrow night. I'm camping out.

True. I got there aroun 7:30 and was about 20th in line. Imagine there will an uptick in people, but I don't think it's going to be anything insane. Get there at a reasonable time, I'm sure you'll be fine.
