Ha Ha, was at a bar.....so elevated bar prices. There will be retail sales in Palm Beach, check around at ABC and TW.

Amazing, it is truly a Vanilla bomb at this time in the process!

Sorry. - any updates on allocations in the triangle area for NC? That sucks about no vanilla.

Just heard that InBev/Goose Island over committed volumes of kegs and bottles of everything outside of BCBS. A lot of places not named WOB, Luekens, Total Wine and ABC got shafted.

I agree they are not all that limited, thats what I was getting at. By releasing them on the most chaotic retail day of the year and sending very small allotments to certain stores is a way to throw beer nerds into a panic.

Was just at TW in West Palm, they said they did not get Vanilla. They also said their distributor got no Vanilla at all (implying it wouldn't be available other places in the area either). However, I do question their expertise, based on the following interaction I had:

Me: "Have you set limits on the Bourbon County beers you are releasing on Friday"
    Employee: "one per customer"
Me: "one bottle or one four pack"
    Employee: "what do you mean"
Me: "there are 4 different variants, one comes in large bottles the other in four packs"
    Employee: "hmmm"

And I'm 99% sure he wasn't intentionally fucking with me, cause he looked legitimately confused. Following that interaction some other employee chimed in about not getting any Vanilla. Take all that for whatever you will.

Vanilla was a marshmallow whiskey delight...

Also had a flight of all 4, coffee was the standout.

Mixed the last ounce of each into a Frankenstein mix and that was impressive.

Incase any of you were at The Hammered Lamb, I was the last not to get one of the 12 unicorns and I arrived at 6:08pm. Sometimes you win and sometimes you lose. Now, I've got to face the treasure hunt on Friday morning.

I hear these bottles were selling for about $50. That just seems unreasonable to pay $50 for 22oz when I think they also had Vanilla on tap pouring for $10/9oz. And why not just wait until Friday at that price?

I called all 3 TWs in the Tampa Bay area. Slight variation on the limits, but it's basically a 4-pack limit on the BCBS, 1 or 2 bottle limit on BCBCS and BCBBW (one of the stores said 4-pack limit on the BW, can't remember which one), and 1 bomber limit on the vanilla.

4-packs are $23.99, singles are $7.50. Bomber of vanilla is $21.99.

Don't think I'll be waiting in line early like I did last year. More for the rest of y'all!

You are right. I'm half glad I didn't get it but at the same time, I'm not and you think about that bottle three months from now. If you saw it on the shelf for that amount, you'd purchase it. So, it's all good.

World of Beer South Tampa had all four variants including Vanilla Rye on draft tonight. Not sure how they'll avoid getting trouble for tapping it ahead of time, but it looked like a good time for those that got to attend (I was living vicariously through Instagram posts).

Anyone have any idea about what the bourbon county status is in Pensacola? In town for thanksgiving and didn't occur to me that it might make it here... thanks!

Was able to get one of those at the Hammered Lamb--$45 for the bomber. It saved me extra time and gas driving around on Friday, so worth it IMO. Also, was $9/10oz pour, which was much more reasonably priced.

I'm from GA and am in NC (Asheville) for Thanksgiving--very sad that neither will be getting Vanilla. I'll do my best to get everything else given that BCBS is pretty much my favorite beer (excluding the variants, even), but the original Vanilla was the best beer I've ever had. Maaaannnnn.

    FT: JK sours
    ISO: Vanilla

I should get a shirt that says that.
