I haven't seen any posts about this being released, but pardon me if there is already. I just saw this at my local Buehlers (grocery store/market) yesterday. I imagine that it hasn't been out very long, as I didn't see it there last week. Looks good though! Love pumking, so I'm going to give it a try; there's some more info on it below. What do you all think of this?

Imagine Pumking aged in 30 year old Spanish rum barrels. Yo ho ho! Time to fly the Jolly Roger. The ‘King has hit the seas in this limited release. Because of it’s very short run, it won’t be available in all of our markets. If you’re in New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maryland, New Jersey or Michigan, you might want to check our beer finder.

    About the beer:
STYLE: Imperial Pumpkin Ale Aged in Rum Barrels
    BREWED SINCE: 2014
    ABV: 10.7%
FERMENTATION: Pumking, but aged in Rum Barrels
    COLOR: Bright, deep copper
    EFFERVESCENCE: Ample
NOSE: vanilla, brandy, subtle stone fruit, slightly boozy br>FLAVOR: honey sweetness, graham cracker, vanilla, mild caramel. Full, rich, alcoholic warming sensation which increases drastically as it warms
    BITTERNESS: Moderate
    BODY: Light
    SERVING TEMPERATURE: 40-50°F
GLASS: Snifter, goblet or stemmed glass
    CELLARING: 40-45°F

All credit for this information goes to Southern Tier Brewery. I'm not affiliated with them, just passing on the information for all of y'all! just thought this would be a fun post to make.

FYI: The pricing seemed a bit steep ($15.99) but since it's rum barrel aged, I'm sure it's worth it to at least try once. There are more expensive beers!

Oh man, hope it's around long enough for me to grab a bottle when I'm in NJ/NY next.

Oh man, I hope it is for you too! I really don't know how long it's supposed to be out for, need to get one myself as well. I skipped out on it yesterday because of the price but hopefully it will still be there next week.

Pumking is OK but I bet I would like this rum barrel aged one better. However the best pumpkin beer I've ever had is Pumpkinator by St. Arnold's.

Just traded a guy in PA for one of these. Can't wait to try it next to original Pumking.

I was surprised at the price on this....15.99...was execting more around 10.99 since regular pumking is 6.99. Alas, i checked several places and all had it for the same price.

That said, i still picked one up out of intrigue

That's good to hear. I usually tend to like Southern Tier, to me, they're not as good as something like Founders or Lagunitas, but still good. I loved Pumking in spite of the hate some people have for it especially with the great price ($6.99 where I'm at).

So I'm assuming anyone who sees all the other ST should get this?

They originally did name it Rumking, but something prevented them from using the name..

    From the link..

"Note: We had originally named this beer “Rumking” for obvious reasons. Much to our surprise, the TTB refused to allow the name. Nevertheless, the liquid inside the bottle is what counts. It is Rum Barrel Aged Pumking, née, Rumking."

15.99 is not pricey, so we're all clear.

I beg to differ. Maybe not for special breweries for something rare/extremely limited. I know many people including myself that wouldn't spend that much on a bomber, but that's just me. Many people think the same way. This is why I don't buy Hoppin' Frogs beers, all of their bombers are usually $15.99 and that's insane when I can get 6 packs of southern tier and Lagunitas for under $10 that taste just as good. I still want to try this however
