That's a good one, and one I'd truly describe as "Brett-centric."

Yeah, I'm totally forgetting Lips of Faith's Biere de Mars, such a great beer and IMO LOF's best offering

Let a bottle of Saison De Lente warm to room temp and you will have a gloriously funked beer. Not sour at all, just earthy and barnyardy.

new belgium just teamed up with lost abbey and dropped brett beer, odells shenanigans, avery muscat d'amour, and of course funkwerks brett dream all come to mind.

EDIT: i actually think funkwerks uses brett in alot of their beers.

I'm guessing you have yet to try Brett Beer? Not at all a beer that I would suggest to a brett lover (or really anybody for that matter). But maybe it will grow some funk in time? I hope so. Cheers!

Out the gate Matilda does have more funk, but I don't think it's brett at all. Just hearty abbey yeast. Sofie gets funkier and more tart (better and better IMO) for atleast 2 years aged in the bottle. It's decent fresh, but not a lacks funky brett swag. As mentioned they use brett in the secondary. So does Ommegang Biere de Mars, also another prime example of amazing brett characteristics being showcased with zero sourness (from bugs). It was lasted brewed in 2008 and is still drinking excellent and has some of the most unique tasting notes I've had of any beer.

So in my professional opinion, this proves the function:
secondary fermentation with brett + (2+x years) = awesomeness of brett beer quotient.
x (oxidation liability) / final gravity at bottling

What he said.... Helios is decent fresh but it develops way more character as it ages. I have to be honest, I forgot about this beer, but recently had one with a year or so on it. Holy cow Brett funkiiness. I've been grabbing more as I get a chance to put away.

New Funky South Paw batch is coming along nicely. 3 months on brett so far. 1 more month and it should be good to go!

That's awesome. I've had a few bottles of fresh Helios and loved them. Probably my second favorite Saison after Tank 7. Very dry and barnyard-y but didn't get much brett. I'm totally going to pick up a few bottles and age them now.
